Brehs, I'm confused...
This thread : http://www.thecoli.com/threads/aj-lee-appreciation-thread.92 has more views than ours and 8 times less posts :why:
I read the last few pages and most of the posts are photos of that AJ Lee wrestler (no nudes, no porn, just casual stuff), screen captures, vid or twits from her. I looked that thread with the :what:face. So weird.

We already had an intervention. Things could have been much worse.

If Sunday's match doesn't break records for TV ratings, I don't know what else there is to say. Has to be the most hyped match in a while. And I don't like they Dempsey focus, this game gets 70,000 with or without him.

Picture not related. Just cool.

can't believe Soton are a -155 favorite tomorrow, have to take Sunderland +1 on principle, not like they played badly last week

and everton -185 vs west brom based on what? way too early in the season for these lines except typical united/chelsea/city games

Haven't seen either last week but Southampton should definitely be favorites. They were better last season and have made three great signings. They spent £35 million for three quality players while Sunderland brought in 12 guys. And it doesn't help that they have a mad man managing them.

Even last year Southampton spent good money on Gaston Ramirez and Jay Rodriguez.

In the wake of Willian's U-turn, the complaints from White Hart Lane were loud and sustained. Daniel Levy, the chairman, was, according to sources, incandescent and there is the firm belief at Tottenham that Chelsea did not truly want Willian. Instead Tottenham feel that they have moved for him purely to prevent Villas-Boas from constructing a squad to challenge them in the Premier League this season. Chelsea deny this and insist they have always had an interest in Willian.

Tottenham also feel that Willian had no say in the transfer, that it was down purely to Abramovich, Kerimov and the player's advisers. Mourinho already has an abundance of options for the positions behind the striker, in the form of Eden Hazard, Oscar, André Schürrle, Juan Mata, Kevin De Bruyne and Victor Moses, and this has only increased the sense at Tottenham that Willian is not really needed at Chelsea.

The bad blood between the clubs was evident two summers ago, when Levy refused to sell Luka Modric to Chelsea in the face of a £40m offer and the midfielder's desire to go. Abramovich does not like Levy, while there is friction between Mourinho and Villas-Boas. They worked together at Porto, Chelsea and Internazionale but the relationship has soured. Their rivalry this season will be intense.

You gotta recognize that that's a bytch move, honestly.
It's like Real buying players just for the competition not to have them. But that's Mourinho so I ain't even mad.
So who does Tottenham have to replace Bale now ?

Tbf Chelsea were linked with Willian long before Spurs or even Liverpool were. There were quite a few reports of Chelsea interest in late 2011/early 2012 iirc, so it's not completely out of the blue.

Lamela seems to be their main target now.

Argument that we need him can be made tbh, especially with the Rooney transfer looking very unlikely.

My theory is Mata flopped in his 'new' RW position so badly in midweek Mourinho has had to rethink things. This comment is from one of the match reports after the Villa game:

Juan Mata, so creative last season, does not appear to slot comfortably into the team and Mourinho was visibly frustrated on one occasion when the Spaniard did not track a man.

From what I saw of Willian he's very active defensively/presses hard and is still an offensive threat. Mata for all his quality in the final third is a liability off the ball, so much so that we might as well be playing with 10 men, and that won't cut it with Mourinho.

If we're going to be competitive and play the high-intensity, hard pressing football the manager wants then we need enough bodies to rotate.
