Troopz will do anything for the bag :manny:

The fact that Barstool paired this dude up with a midget let’s you know what time it is over there, and what type of crowd they’re trying to appeal to.

(No offense to midgets, they deserve opportunities as well :whoa:)

:picard: that's some proper Allardyce route 1 football. Jumpers for goalposts, beans on toast, bangers and mash, pint of Bovril, lump it forward to the big lad up front, Brexit means Brexit stuff.

:unimpressed:

Y'all 3 years late to the party. The mighty Poch was doing this for years, but I guess we're going to forget that.

Kickoffs remain hilariously simple

That routine never worked once as well :mindblown:

Your no suppose to score from it, if a goal is score directly from that action it's a bonus. But it's main function is to control territorial position, limit the space , box in the defending team near their goal and initiate the high press. In theory you're basically giving the ball away to get it straight back.

If you watch rugby then you'll totally understand the method and reasoning behind it.

I understand your not supposed to score. Most of the time it just gave possession the the opposition or just went out of play though. Didn't really give an advantage to us once.

Actually, watching it again, every single one handed possession to the opposition. :mindblown:

If the aim is just pressing the opposing team back closer to their goal, then it worked but it's pretty pointless when you then no longer have the ball.
Better off just keeping the ball IMO.

You give the ball up to gain territorial advantage.

The idea is for the ball to go out for a throw in, by or near to the corner flag. So when the opps take their throw in, your suppose to strangle the space with the press, so either the defender or keeper has no other option but to lump the ball back to you as they don't have any other outlet pass. And once the ball comes back to you, youre already set in your attacking positions and more importantly in their half of the pitch.

Yeah, I see, it's a bit like how a line drop-out works in rugby league (which is what we play in Australia; not sure what the comparison would be for union), or actually more like a 40/20.

With the 40/20, if you're inside your own half behind the 40m line you can attempt to gain distance by kicking the ball so that it bounces once before rolling out of play beyond the opposition's 20m line. If you pull it off you get to start with the ball at the 20m line with a fresh set of tackles, so you've got a good possibility of scoring a try. If you don't pull it off then worst case scenario you've pushed the opposition deep into their own half for their set of tackles and reduced their likelihood of scoring from that set

Basically. It's the same in union, with the line out. I was thinking of Union, but I think your explanation and using League is better. Just due to the limited set of tackles you have in league.

Regardless of League or Union it's the same principles. Its all about controlling the territory and limiting the opps space to play, to where they have to give you the ball back, while you're in their half.
