They understand their audience meaning right now a significant amount of ppl watching are casual in the US or are just watching to support the country's team therefore they need to come up with non-football/soccer facts such as family or childhood nicknames or why players have their first and not their last names behind their jerseys. No one has mentioned that Robinson plays for Fulham or Dest plays for AC Milan or Memphis plays for Barcelona.

It is all fluff analysis to engage the casual non hardcore football US audience.

To be fair, Stu Holden had been calling which clubs people play for (Musah for Valencia when he was marking FDJ).

But you know the US also loves a “story” or an angle.

Gio should’ve been on since the start, that’s exactly what we need
One of Gio or Aaronson needed to be starting over Jesus F, he offered absolutely nothing today. Tekkers on those two are far higher than other.

We may have been better off getting eliminated in the group stage.

They’re going to use us being the only CONCACAF team in the knockout to keep Berhalter
Nah. Is this really any better than 2010 and 2014? 2010 topped a group with England. 2014 qualified in a group with Ghana, Germany and Portugal. Both Bradley and Klinnsman were fired within 2 years.

This team has high expectations and fans hate Egg head. We only scored 2 non fluke goals the whole tourney. He might make it a few months but the first time we lose 2-0 to Costa Rica or Panama he gone.

…nah experiencing the pressure that came with this is good .

And tbf it's not Berhalter fault that he gotta pick form MLS CBs and forwards
It’s his fault he played a 5’9” Ferreira against a tall Dutch defense. That he kept an offensive weapon on the bench until his back was literally against the wall. That he can’t move Pulisic from corners despite it not working at all. Those are all on him.

Jesse Marsh can’t be the only coach coaching in Europe
He prefers managing club football, too. Can't be our only option.

There are thoughtful young tactical managers in MLS, but you can only get so far tactically coaching here. We need to send managers to Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, the English Championship.

Football is such a funny game. No guarantee this nucleus will be better by the time the next world cup comes around.
I am going to say this and be done with it.
The US is always an early round exit playing in CONCACAF, either get players with European experience or get out of CONCACAF and get used to a higher level of play.
I honestly think they will be.

Pulisic, Adams, McKennie, Musah, Aaronson, Reyna all in their early 20s. This tournament would have been a big learning experience for them. The midfield was surprisingly good. All these guys play in Europe btw.

They need to scout far and wide for a good center forward and a few defenders and they will be in a strong position I feel.

Difference between talent and talent w/experience. Dutch absorb US pressure then capitalize on mistakes.

Good tournament to build on for 2026. Fire Egg head and find a real coach. Spend the next 3 years scouring the US for a striker and CB that can play out the back.

I’d throw the bag at Jesse Marsch. Also do whatever it takes to get into Copa America. Need to play against high level squads. Never going to build out level playing against Concacaf.
The Dutch are just a better team. It's that simple. They are clinical, they punish you when chances present themselves and their defense is fukking insane. Elite.

Breh we simply did not play all of our best players. Also Berhalter is just conservative as fukk

I don’t even understand how some of these people made the squad.

I’m not saying we were quarterfinals / semifinals bound but at least lose putting the best product forward
