Can someone explain why so heavy on the Dutch and Belgian side? Not like there were colonial ties iircSurprisingly not that many French dual citizens on the Morocco team. Only Boufal and Saiss from the players today. Manager is French-born as well.
Much heavier Dutch and Belgian presence.
Belgium had a guest worker arrangement with Morocco in the 60s, like Turkey and GermanyCan someone explain why so heavy on the Dutch and Belgian side? Not like there were colonial ties iirc
Belgium and Netherlands had major labour shortages during post WW2 economic booms and recruited labour from Morocco and Turkey among other places to fill the gap. So called “guest workers” mainly men.Can someone explain why so heavy on the Dutch and Belgian side? Not like there were colonial ties iirc
What's the beef between Argentine and Nigeria ?BRAHHHH…they fell hand bad. I can’t see Uefa take another WC. Wanted Brazil to break that streak.
Hate to root for Argentina as a Nigerian…but
Fair enough live your truthUnlike young buck, i proudly claim who i love. so no.
Faced them a lot in world cups at youth, Olympics and senior levels. Always tight affairs. What's the beef between Argentine and Nigeria ?
Morocco used to have more French born players. But to come back to your question, the Moroccans in Belgium and in the Netherlands tend to be less integrated than the French Moroccans. Many of them came from the same area (Rif) in the 70/80s, they were the least educated and the poorest among the Moroccan immigrants. They are also very conservative and proud of their traditions. They perpetuate their culture and are prouder to rep Morocco than Belgium or the Netherlands. Can someone explain why so heavy on the Dutch and Belgian side? Not like there were colonial ties iirc
