Xavi needs to play off a target like he has done at PSV and Leipzig. Depay dropping deep kills the spacing for Xavi because Depay isn't a runner.
What I did notice in the first half that when Xavi moved inside to make 2 10's with Depay. Gakpo was the furthest forward attacker on the left which allowed Dumfries to do his best Cafu impersonation and patrol the right flank
