It's like he forgets that he's supposed to :troll: and c00n sometimes. His ESPN "persona" is to be the hard on black people guy, but then you have the "real nikka" Stephen A who busts out and forgets that he's supposed to be selling his ESPN persona

You know what's unfortunate? You're probably 100% right. He has to play the game or we won't even get those sporadic "real nikka" appearance.

First Take is one of the only platforms in the world we can get a black perspective on a lot of these things though. I appreciate SAS in that regard, and I also appreciate Skip, because while he's a massive troll when it comes to sports, he definitely has a lot of love and empathy for the plight of the negro. Skip is the kind of white man I can appreciate. The kind you don't call a CAC.

i see,

Zeke has hard criteria then. I guess to him KD isn't a superstar, along with roazay & others.

Lebron was the best player in the league long before he won his first title and Jordan was as well.

In 89 bird was hurt and didn't even play that first round against the pistons, so zeke wasn't being 100% honest lol

He said talent don't matter breh. Mike was probably the best player in the L his rookie season talent wise. But it dont mean shyt to NBA Legends unless u can lead ya squad to a chip. Their criteria is you gotta have that hardware to be a superstar

Zeke aint no only one who has said this either

If this was tennis i would agree with him. This is a team sport, to many variables out of your control shouldn't be held against you like this. No one is going to tell me karl malone, barkley, etc.. weren't superstars, while Dirk finally became one in 2011.

Its the one sport where one great player has a huge impact on a game/franchise thats why i dont mind judign on rings

Hell these dudes who we claim as superstars have trouble getting to the cofnerence finals never mind winnign titles to me thats mind boggling calling players like that superstars or franchise players

Todays nba Bron is domianting the sport near a Jordan like level but theyres no Olajuwon or even Malone/Barkley level players to challenge

And he said it perfectly. When he and MJ came into the league, Bird & Magic were largely established as Superstars partly because they already had rings. The bar has been lowered tremendously since then (at least in Zeke's view), so while these dudes like Durant and CP3 are tremendously talented, and no one is disputing that, they still need to earn that official status of "Superstar" by at least winning a 'chip.
I agree about it being thrown around now but what about sir Charles, Malone, etc :sas1:

I was saying the same thing at the time it happened.

That reverse shirts thing was a p*ssy move.

At the end of the day they just wanted to play basketball. It was more important to them than standing for a cause. The same sentiments were echoed from their head coach. He might as been an out of touch white man. Its sad that even JVG was more outraged. How Lebron standing up speaking out before the players. I hope they get blown out tonight and get all the way the fukk outta here

Yes, but if they aren't surrounded by the right players they aren't winning a ring either. Judging players by the rings their team's won is stupid. Its a team sport. A lot goes into winning a ring.

stephen A shouldn't have stood his ground instead of backing down to zeke

of course zeke gonna feel that way because he's a great player

Tony Parker is a great player but he is not a superstar at all

however being a superstar has nothing to do with rings

Penny Hardaway was a superstar in his prime without question

Barkley was a superstar which is why he's still famous till this day

Lebron was a bigger super than Duncan before he had won any rings when duncan had 4

Lebron was a superstar the day he got in the league, the money from his endorsement deal was more than any other player ever

lets be serious, Isiah was a superstar from the get go and so was jordan

now cp3 isn't a superstar but it's not because he doesn't have rings, i think people throwing shade at him because they don't think he deserves the advertisements and things of that nature
