Yeah facts, Trump gon really fukk the city up if he gets all of it. The Maryland thing is an old proposal that was made in the whole statehood thing. Basically if DC couldn’t get statehood then the residential parts would be retroceded back to Maryland like Alexandra was to Virginia and keep the federal parts under the control of Congress. That way District residents would get Senate representation in Congress via Maryland. It would be renamed Douglass County after Frederick Douglass.
It might actually be a good temporary plan because Maryland has never had any desires to take over DC so post Trump if things are ok for it they’d prolly give DC its autonomy back. It would be really strange though, I would want DC to remain as autonomous as possible if it were under Maryland jurisdiction.
