Whats something cool to do in DC/Alexandria? Gonna be there a few days rekindling an old flame :shaq:

Any upscale restaurants/lounges that got that vibe to it? Im really not tryna do some South Beach shyt out there
Hit up :
U Street
Old Town Alexandria
the Waterfront
Southwest and Northwest (anywhere west of 14th St. will be even more convienent) since those two quadrants are the closest to VA geographically.

Bet that, good restaurants? Preferably west indian, sushi or italian

Zento in Old Town Alexandria got some bomb ass sushi and sushi bowls.

There’s this Jamaican joint on North Cap St. that’s got great reviews called Jam Doung Style. I’ve been meaning to try it out.

If you can afford it, I’d rather be in DC myself. Rule of thumb in the DMV tho, the closer you are to a Metro station, the higher the real estate prices will be in most places....Especially in NoVa and DC.

Ohh okay. If her job’s out in Fairfax, is the job anywhere near a Metro station? If it’s still a lil distant from the nearest station, she can call in Uber or Lyft (the latter’s generally cheaper btw and they do background checks) and they’ll take her there. Also, most jobs in the DMV (especially federal ones) give out transit benefits to employees such as SmarTrip cards with $200+ on them or fare discounts among other stuff. See if her job has such benefits because Metro (our subway) will charge your fare by distance, time, and day.

Distance: The farther out you go, the higher the fare gets when you tap out and leave the station.

Time: Rush hour (7 am to 9 am; 4 pm to 8 pm), daily Metro fare increases above the regular flat rate.

Day: Metro fares are always cheaper on weekends.

Nah her job isn't by the the metro tho there is a shuttle service

One of the things I didn't know until I moved here was that the metro system is not like new york where it's a flat rate :martin:

Interested in the area. What are some walkable suburbs with good schools? Besides Arlington, Alexandria, and Silver Spring. Those r my choices but they r expensive

Didn’t know that either till I decided to take the subway from Silver Spring to Georgetown or something like that.

After hearing then price and the fact that the train was coming every 25 minutes (construction), I ran back to my hotel and got my car.
