This 100%.

Whether they keep Dak long-term or let him go in a year or two.....there are too many Shanahan coaches out there now and they are blocking the Boys path. Defense looks lost EVERYTIME they play one of those offenses.

Even if they cut Dak right now and put in Trey, the team still needs to fix the trenches on both sides and improve the flexibility on D.

My guess....is that the Cowboys defense isn't "smart." Mike Nolan's defense required a lot of thinking and they played like shyt. DQ has a more simple scheme and it's easy for players to jump in and play well. They are good in man coverage but when they run zone and need discipline....team looks lost. When they have to think and dissect, it's a shytshow. Niners bruhs on D are sharp and adjust on the fly.
Nolan’s defense had potential to be good but we didn’t have the players to run that. Especially trying to covert from marinelli vanilla defense. That was too much info to be processed during a Covid off season.

I still think Quinn gets a job. Resurgence of defensive play around the league and DeMeco's success as a defensive/cultural change guy will get Quinn an opportunity IMO.
Im fine w this honeslty. 49ers, Packers, and the Rams arent going anywhere and will be a nemesis against a DQ led defense.

My concern is who gets the job? What top defensive mind is gonna come here under a lame duck coach in the final year of his contract?

This is how a real DFW sports franchise make their fans feel. :wow:

Rangers were smart enough to hire the Bill Belichick of Baseball.

I think the better question is do the cowards in this organization have the gumption to bring in an outside voice in the final year of this core? Does Mike McCarthy want to put his job in the hands of a DC who will be fast tracking a new system in a single offseason? Do these cuddled players have the ability to adapt and learn on the fly? I think the hesitancy is moreso in house than from outside candidates worried about a lame duck, b/c I think a guy like Vrabel would do it with confidence. It's these cowards in Dallas that lack confidence in themselves (see below).

Go listen to Derek Eagleton on The Break from two days ago. He almost had a nervous breakdown at the thought of a post-Dak world.

This organization (and the compromised media) is paralyzed in fear at the thought of taking three steps back in order to take five steps forward. Part of it is comfort, the other part of it is the timetable we're on b/c of Jerry's age. The latter is growing in influence IMO.

The players can't even get down the terminology and checks with a coach that has been there for 4 seasons. :heh:

It has been 4 seasons and the players still look lost out on the field. :heh:

A lot of these apologist are just using the same lazy takes.
