Read New Avenger 12 cause I got it by mistake.
Somebody's been reading their obscure comics. But I think I said that when that silly looking "Revengers" team showed up.
This issue sets up shield agent and chronic backstabber John Garrett as a possible new villain.
John Garrett, as none of you may remember, was a member of Leonardo Davinci's "Great Wheel of the Zodiac", a group that was composed of Baron Strucker, Dum Dum Dugan, Nick and Jake Fury, Cornelius Van Lunt, Shoji Soma and some others.
Basically, the russian members betrayed the group (and formed Leviathan), Strucker and Shoji (the leader of The Hand) teamed up to fight them back, basically starting Hydra. Jake Fury went nuts, Nick got critically injured and got the Infinity Formula as a result (then he and Duggan helped form SHIELD from the shadows to stymie the fallout of the Hydra/Leviathan War), Van Lunt went to start the criminal Zodiac and dress like a cow.
Garrett disappeared.
Here, not only does he reference The Great Wheel stealing the alien tech that they used to create LMDs (Dum Dum Duggan is now nothing but an LMD), but also another obscure spy tech firm that Garrett worked for waay back during the first Elektra: Assassin series.
I might stick around just because I'm a sucker for continuity, whenever it's used. It's something severely lacking in today's comics.
But since no one cared about all that shyt I just typed, the book also came with this cover came as a variant.
It's sooo cool.
