Comics is down bad.

21 4-issue mini series :picard: Not even 5 or 6 issues.
Nothing sticks.

they trying to ease away from comics emulating movies and shows cause that wasn't working and the movie/tv industry collapsing under it's own weight.....

but they're scared.

I love this industry like I love music and food, but they did this to themselves and I honestly don't care.

Fight outta that corner, comics industry.

A good bounce back issue for Immortal X-Men after a lackluster arc in what ended up being the White Hot Room.

I don't think Gillen's direction of the story is very compelling, but the way dude writes makes it worth keep reading it regardless.

Only thing I liked about Immortal was Exodus and Hope.

Fall of the House of X #1 was bleh :francis: underwhelming start to Duggan's side of the story.
I really enjoyed Hellions and some of Immortal X-men and X-Men Red were cool but I'm so disappointed that we didn't get to see Hickman tell his X-men story. Terrible decision by Marvel and I'm not really trying to read them going back to the status quo once the Krokoa era is over.

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I love the Krakoa concept and new status quo that Hickman came up with, so having more time with this setting plus having good writers do better stories than the first year of Hickman (with Ewing, GIllen. Ayala, Spurrier, etc. leading the charge) felt like a good enough trade off at the time.

But now that we are in the endgame of the whole thing you can really feel the lack of focus and purpose the last 3 years had without Hickmans vision. At the end of the day, it was pretty obvious that the "3 year plan" the X-Office came up with was "Duggan you take care of Orchis, Ewing you can play with Arakko/Storm and Gillen you do whatever the fukk you want".

Duggan did a cool job with his monthly series but it never built up to anything remotely epic or big enough that could follow what Hickman teased. Even the stuff in Inferno was never really followed up and that shyt felt like huge deal ("mutants always win" and Karima being sort of a counter to Moira). So now we are left with a really bland confrontation with Orchis and trying to tie up as much loose ends as possible without feeling very earned.

Gillen did a masterful job imo. But he clearly had an original pitch that he was smart enough to make it work in the Krakoa Era. I personally don't really care about this Sinister Dominion stuff but dude is an incredible comic book writer so he makes it worth my time and I'll keep reading what he comes up with. Regardless, it still feels disconnected to the original path we were presented at the beggining of this new Era and it doesn't feel as compelling. I'm glad he at least took the job because without him and Ewing this whole thing goes to shyt post Hickman.

Ewing was awesome and had to me the best run out of everyone because he was able to keep building and presenting stories connected to the original path. And because of it, he basically was given his own corner to cook and to not interfere with both Gillen and Duggan.

Looks like a lot of them are X-Men and Gang War tie-ins.

But realistically this is the future of comics. I expect Marvel to go with the DC method of launching minis and bumping them to ongoing if they sell well enough.

As opposed to Marvel's current method of stealth-canceling the book at ten issues. :francis:
