Since I read all of my comics digitally, this is really fukked up for me

It says you can still access them if you link your Marvel account to Comixology, which I did years ago.

This is one of the big reasons I started going back to the comic shop. No telling if these apps just delete all the shyt you bought just because they decided they didn't want to bother with the service anymore.

Also, if you buy a physical Marvel comic, you automatically get a digital code for free, so that's an option too if only for Marvel.

Just got back from the Fayetteville comicon
there were surprisingly a lot of Demon Slayer Cosplayers there
6 as Nezuko
5 Tanjiro's ( only one was a dude tho')
1 inosuke - and the mask was great
3 as Giyu - all female
1 as Tengen - Dude's costume was bad@$$.
1 Chubby Akaza

Only saw one BSD - a couple went as Atsushi and Kyoka

there was a lot of Dragon Ball and One piece Cosplayers as well.

the main floor was a Power Rangers tribute - they had a shyt ton of those actors there - it was a tribute to the dude that committed suicide last yearWay too many Power rangers cosplayers

I was only there for 3 hours, but it was a decent con

Did see few Harley Quinns too, (one was a damn dude) :scust:
My wife was like "that's the biggest Harley Quinn I ever seen ??"
I took a look and was like "Gina, that ain't no damn woman!!!!"

Sins of Sinister is dragging on and I for one can't wait for it to wrap up.
This last chapter was the weakest one of the whole 9 issues, I've really liked it the whole event though. I think they nailed the pace and n° of books for it. The finale is on Wednesday :ehh:

Another miniseries gets extended due to high sales.

While I understand this is the way of the industry now for lesser known characters and even indies (Boom Studios extended Damn Them All and Briar to ongoings recently as well), I do wonder how this will affect books going forward.

If a book is planned for six issues, and actually ends at six issues, will people look at it and go, "Well, that book must have flopped or else it would have been extended"? And if they do, will that affect trade sales later on? Obviously Big Two events and crossovers are their own beast, but for every other title, 'only' getting six issues and not getting extended is just going to become the new cancelled.

Plus the fact that anime and manga are so intrinsically tied together. People who watch season one of an anime will often start reading the manga to get ahead in the story. Conversely, people who already read the manga will watch the anime to see the story in color and in motion. Western comics in general don't have that. We have a whole generation of MCU fans who know almost nothing about actual Marvel comics, and don't need to because what goes on in the MCU has zero bearing over what goes on in the comics. But look at how well books like Invincible, Heartstopper and Sandman started selling after their adaptations. Look at how fast The Authority and Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow sold out just by James Gunn directly mentioning them by name. Western media adaptations in general have always had the problem of just being raided for the IP and then letting the screenwriter repurpose, say, their crime noir screenplay into a Batman movie.

I don't buy that continuity is that much of a limiting factor to accessibility after 15 years of the MCU and Arrowverse.

Yup. There was a 4-year period where Black Panther was the dude between 2016 (Civil War) and 2019 (End Game) but the comics were not only misaligned, they depicted the character and world as the exact opposite of the films (dumbass Coates...).

And while i liked the Black Panther cartoon... it was disconnected to any comic run and it was low budget trash ass animation compared to what Invincible, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan and other comic or manga adaptations get.

Into the Spider-verse would be the type of "anime" movie people would be rushing to follow what happens next in a Miles Morales manga... but that's just not how American comics are structured. Which is why they're never going to expand their audience for the floppies past the usual homegrown neckbeards, despite the massive interest in the IPs in every other form of media (games, movies, tv shows, etc) across multiple demographics.

Sins of Sinister was a cool alternate timeline story. It's a shame that the 1000 year story was by far the weakest one, which hurt the climax and ending a bit. Going so far into a future forced them to create really out there scenarios and that kinda damps on the premise of it all. I also felt this should've been more connected to Fall Of X, which is mainly about Orchis having the upperhand.

But still, it was a pretty impressive thing Gillen, Ewing and Spurrier were able to pull off. These kinds of "events" normally are a fukking mess and they managed to make it cool and compelling for 80% of the it.

Mark Bagley is doing a signing for FCBD at an LCS about 30 minutes from me. I don’t have ASM 361 so I may just take one of the Maximum Carnage books to get signed. I tried buying an ASM 361 from eBay but everything is saying I won’t get it until Monday :beli:

Any recommendations on books to get signed?
