I take back everything bad I ever said about Nick Spencer's Spider-Man run.

It had its ups and downs, but at least it felt like he was trying when it counts. Zeb Wells' run is actively insulting the reader's intelligence. :unimpressed:

I'm giving it until the end of the next arc before I decide to drop it. Hopefully they actually give a decent answer the mystery this whole run has been hinging on, that they haven't even addressed in almost a year. :trash:
Hopefully they get a new artist too. The current art is trash juice

I'm not enjoying any of the Spider-Man books at the moment.

Yeah, I couldn't get past issue 7 or 8 of Wells run. Crazy how he could pull off such an amazing book with Hellions and then do THAT to Spidey :why: :snoop:

Who asked for this?

The ultimate universe means nothing these days: it's best parts (characterizations, designs) have been scavenged by the main comic universe and MCU, and the novelty of a universe where someone is suddenly black or has a completely different origin has been run to death by the multiverse and timeline stories in the last 20 years.

Great news. Poison Ivy is an amazing series (I'd argue it's DC's Immortal Hulk) and it's good to see what was intended to only be a six-issue miniseries get bumped to a full ongoing rather that just extended like Swamp Thing or Shang-Chi.

That seems to be the new direction the industry is going in, at least for the Big Two: short minis that get extended if they sell well enough, rather than straight up ongoings that get canceled when sales drop or the creative team leaves.

:heh: I be so busy that I forget it's wednesday til like saturday or some shyt. Sorry to folks who may think I abandoned the thread.

And yeah, Poison Ivy is my favorite DC book right now, outside of WildCATs. I said a few months ago that I think it may be a bit too.... girly-centric for a lot of folks. But it's been a crack character study month after month.

I'm sorta kinda interested.

This is Hickman. 4 issues is WAAAAY too little for him to work with.

Wait, so this Ultimate Universe stuff is not the thing that Hickman was working on and was promoted as a big deal year? I know he was working with Schitti on that one and it's supposed to be Marvel's version of Sandman so this can't be it:patrice:

Two Hickman projects in the same year :ohhh:

Although Black Adam has always been drawn to look more Euro-centric, this is the most cacish I've ever seen him drawn...
