Immortal X-Men #3 was the shyt.
I love how Hickman and now Gillen have positioned Destiny as one of the major players in the X-Men universe and they have broadened what was a pretty thin character (despite existing since the early 80s) and broadened her into such a rich a deeply textured character with a ton of potential.
Destiny and Mr. Sinister have been the scene stealers of the Krakoa era and I can't wait to see their history/rivalry explored.

What a week for the X-Line

Gillen had to step up after Ewing knocked it out of the park last week and breh followed it up with another home run. X-Men Red and Immortal X-Men are a killer 1-2 punch

X-Men #12 was awesome too. Duggan did a really good job with the book, making it more action based and super hero based while at the same time building to the Krakoa fukkery that continues to grow. Pepe's art continues to be

New Mutants #26. Like I said last issue, I'm all in for this story and this was a nice follow up.

Knight's of X has been really good too (if you are into this sort of story). Narration boxes works wonders with Tini Howard, it's like a 180° compared to the mess that was Excalibur. This book is focused, it's easy to follow, has a lot of dope callbacks and makes you want to keep reading.

Ridley's Black Panther is trash.

This the type of shyt i'd expect from white writers, so its doubly troublesome that we've now had back-to-back African-American male writers who not only want to depict T'Challa as a premium version of Jody (Baby Boy) but they also want to inject some weird sense of American nationalism. "Monarchies are bad, democracy is great, blah bla-" nobody gives a shyt.

The premise is a cerebral masculine king of a thriving sci-fi African monarchy. It'd be like someone assigned to a Dr. Doom solo and saying well i want the next 7 years to focus on him being a down on his luck Matt Murdock with catholic undertones. Well why don't you just write a fukking daredevil book then?

I'd have never thought i'd see AA writers giving an african character the

treatment. This ain't what Priest and McDuffie went through hell and back for. This ain't what the brethren movement was supposed to be.

Altho Aaron's Avengers is overall an inconsistent mess, how is it that balding neckbeard can write a T'Challa like a bad ass, i.e. as if he's living vicariously through the character the same way a white man would write batman or a jap would write Goku

...yet Coates and Ridley write BP's solo like they're lipstick alley moderators fresh off a Waiting to Exhale movie night?

I know Al Ewing is the hot commodity and basically "get in line" status but at this point BP needs someone like him or even Aaron to helm his solo book.

The last 3 solo writers were Hudlin, Coates, Ridley... there's a trend there... whereas the last good BP writer was Priest, an actual comic book writer.

I think if this was the 2000s he would be written the way we want him to be...

I agree. For some of the good it may have done, SJW became a double-edged sword because they started looking at the hetero black male as the “sacrifice” team player for other underrepresented groups to step over.

i.e. the whole lesbian Doras raging against the toxic masculinity of misogynist Wakanda (that was never a thing until they decided to make it a thing specifically for the lesbian Doras).

But like the brotha said above, you can incorporate strong healthy depictions of other underrepresented groups without compromising the behavior and integrity of the core characters and concepts. This shyt here is just lazy bad writing.

I enjoyed his run. Nice seeing Jace Fox overcoming crimefighting hurdles and have non-cliche supporting characters.

Yeah I've dropped the book. I am reading Daredevil though .

Hudlin's run is getting better with age now. I feel like emasculated T'challa is editorial mandate now.
