Anyone read JM Dematteis’ Moonshadow? I found the series in the dollar boxes earlier today. Comic vine put it in the same breath as Watchmen and TDKR. Art looks nice. :ehh:

boy you digging waaaayyyy back into obscurity :heh:

and nah, I havent read it, but you just reminded me that I was meaning to read it and a bunch of other comics from marvel's Epic imprint. But I havent had that thought since before Pac died :flabbynsick:

If I come across some interesting books in the cheap boxes, and if they're a complete set, I'll pick 'em up. The artwork caught my eye.

I'm a Starlin fan so I bought the trades of the first 12 issues of the Dreadstar Epic series. It was actually good and I considered adding the rest of the series to my list. I passed because my list is too much and I keep adding on. I only have about 100-120 on my list, but I'm running out of space for shyt. Buying a bunch of random comics ain't helping either. :snoop:

:mjgrin:I hear you, breh. At one point I had like 60 longboxes between two states cause of that same reason. Just buying whole series nshyt out the bargain bins/boxes on top of monthly pull lists. When I was growing up I had no idea comic book stores even existed. Could only buy stuff at supermarkets, gas stations and drug stores.

Every time I would move somewhere and there was one nearby, I'd damn near lose my mind.

The owner of one comic book store asked me if I was trying to buy his whole business from him one piece at a time. :mjlol:

:russ: yeah, it's why I be/been in this thread like a living comicbook wikipediia page.

lotta moving around and it seemed like every time I'd move I'd lose 3 or 4 boxes, sheisty family members throwing "worthless" stuff away. girls burning them, lost a few boxes in katrina

I got like 2 or 3 boxes left, and I found those. There's a post somewhere in this thread with pics of me digging through them.

Two things I used to have shyt tons of that I don't bother physically collecting now: Comics and Albums/Records/CDs.... for pretty much the same reasons. You spend so much time and money and lose so much you just be like fukk it.

Damn, dude, I feel some kinda way for you. To lose so much would hurt my soul. :mjcry:

At least you seem to be in good spirits. I've been collecting a lotta shyt since I was little (hence my new name), so this is in my blood. Luckily I've stopped on most. I'm all about books (comics and regular) and movies nowadays.
