Trying to spend the week getting caught up on comics, so I read some Spider-Man last night.

Sins Rising and Joker War are the exact same fukking story. :dead: They hit the exact same notes, beat for beat--the vigilante who goes further than the hero, and the public turning on the heroes because of it; the cult surrounding one of the villains; the 'family' of similar-themed heroes getting involved; the hero and his long-standing feud with the villain, whom he's 'linked to for life'; the fact that the hero won't kill the main villain, and the other heroes are tired of it.

The only difference is Peter doesn't lose his fortune because he's not rich. He just did that at the start of Nick Spencer's run. :mjlol:

I don't remember which one started first, but either Nick Spencer or James Tynion is looking at the other like

That said, I thought both stories were fun reads. I'd give the edge to Joker War because I like Tynion's writing better, and I think he did a good job incorporating some of the stronger elements of Tom King's run without all the pretentious navel-gazing.

Yeah, there are a lot of the these mirror stories between Batman and Spider-Man. Endgame and Red Goblin, ect.

As much as people like to shyt on wolverine and the hulk for fight fixing, i feel like ben is the most inconsistently written brawler in marvel
I like when the writer takes the time to show that The Thing can beat some of the people he fights who are stronger than him because Ben Grimm can legit box/wrestle and he uses those skills to gain the upper hand.
