How does the sound quality of vinyl compare to CD’s and digital albums?

depends on the material, for alot of the jazz fusion being posted i think vinyl is key because it helps with the soft sounds and unique grooves sound warmer

hiphop? depends, Liquid Swords is meant to be a vinyl play imo. heavy boom bap maybe not as much

If I did cop vinyls it would mostly be hip hop albums, but if there’s no major difference then I’ll just keep copping CD’s and digitals for now

What would you suggest is a good record player to purchase? Strictly for music though nothing DJ related

3 vinyls this week.

The first was Life or Death by Biggie. Never had it on vinyl, saw it, and copped it.

The second was Alchemist's instrumentals for Paris x LA ()

The third USPS should arrive today, and is Weather or Not by Evidence

How does the sound quality of vinyl compare to CD’s and digital albums?

IMO it sounds more lush and full if that makes any sense. It sort of sounds fuller, and the bass sounds really "warm" almost.

Now, a lot depends on the specific mastering. You mostly notice the difference on albums that came out before digital mastering. But then there's also albums that were mastered digitally but remastered for vinyl. So on those I think yu'd hear the difference too.

I dunno. Some people that know more about engineering than me may be able to tell you more. I would think if the same files are mastered for digital/CD/vinyl then they'd sound pretty close across all 3 formats. Not always true though. Some newer albums sound way different to me on vinyl, and some don't.

But definitely I think old records sound much better on vinyl. What makes it sound better on a technical level is actually some "imperfections" for lack of a better word. But I dig it.

This is a pretty decent player to start with: Audio-Technica.On Amazon they have a few models. Any of the model 60 options are around 99 bucks, and you can connect them with Bluetooth to any speakers you already have.

The Audio Technica LP60 is great. The basic one is $99 and there's a version for $129 that lets you rip whatever vinyl you're playing into a digital format. That's the one I have, because I have some old hip-hop vinyls that you can't find on modern streaming platforms, and it's a nice way to get digital files for stuff that's hard to find.

Just hop on Amazon and type in Audio Tecnica LP and you'll see both right near the top.

No doubt.

People say it's some hipster shyt and I don't disagree but I love vinyl.

It's fun.

If you do order it, lemme know if it sounds decent when you get it. I hope I made a god suggestion. I'm confident with it.
