still need this one, caught the first with WSG x conway.

been collecting for years off and on but probably went all in and said fukk the rest of my responsibilities in life about 7-8 years ago. currently spinning some obscure jazz funk from 1975 czechoslovakia. after much debate with myself i'm keeping it a secret for a little while, least til i catch a second copy. funky listen from front to back but it's got a few slammin breaks and some really nice samples/stabs too. next up will probably be some lonnie liston smith and the cosmic echoes after going through this thread.

Somethin Special got one of the most fire hooks ever.

The great thing about vinyl is that it almost forces you to sit through it with skipping

Side 1 of this Freda Payne is the hardest shyt I've ever heard
:wow:

Yooooo that side 1 is amazing!! Don't Wanna Be Left Out is a perfect closing too. I had downloaded that album initially and loved it. Easily my favorite of hers then I got the vinyl and realized that unfortunately side 2 isn't that great. Incredibly how having to flip sides of something can change your perspective.

for you new vinyl collectors, be careful when buying remasters on vinyl because they really aren't remastering the project. They aren't going back to the source tapes(2 inch reels) and re-mixing the project, they're just pulling the albm off cd and boosting the volume which just makes it sound like shyt compared to the original. IF you want to hear the difference in an original vinyl and "remastered" version, I will let you hear it. I have a few that's been remastered while still having the originals.

A lot of vinyl today doesn't have that sound of old because we are no longer recording on tape. So recording digitally, bouncing down to a digital source and then putting it on vinyl still wouldn't give you the sound of recording on tape and putting it on a cd format. People don't understand this.
