Just got back from Colorado a few days ago. Was in the Grand Lake / Winter Park area.

First time in a small town / cabin type of setting. Was beautiful af.

- Snowmobiling: this was fun af, especially getting up in elevation and seeing the landscape and horizon from different angles. As a group we decided to do a guided 2 hour tour….max speed we got up to was maybe 47mph and went up to 12,000 ft. But after seeing the trails, even if you never done it before..you could get away with an unguided tour.

Probably won’t hit top speeds cause you gotta be more wary of trail signs, but you’ll be able spend more time off the snowmobile and take in the sights, maybe get some elite drone shots and shyt.

(Saw a couple of dudes that basically converted dirtbikes into snowmobiles…or snowmobiles into dirtbikes…cuttin up the trail, doing crazy hops and shyt. Can’t front shyt was dope to see)

(Saw an old man, had to be 60+….going up the trail with a bicycle :wtf:. Base of the trail is around 9,000 ft, peak around 12,000. :picard: Had to salute his endurance and mental fortitude, even aside from going 3,000 Ft uphill in snow…..the lowering temperature and wind as you climb would fukk with me.)

- Skiing: 1st time skiing. Almost shattered my face. :mjlol: Bust my ass getting off the lift. Then the instructor told us come to him 20 yards out, sideways across the slope. I started off with a spark, was good half way to him….tried to slow down a bit….but that ended up turning me downhill and picking up hella speed.

Was headed straight back to the base of the slope to the lift area with caution tape all around it. Had like 10 more seconds to decide between still trying this bullshyt as ‘pizza stop’ that hasn’t been working the whole way down and risk slamming straight into the lift. Or falling back.

Fell back. Got the wind knocked out of me, grabbed my chest like Sanford and Son. Was down for a good 20 seconds tryna regain my breath :russ:.

Overall, was a dope experience but I regret only doing it one day…cause I didn’t get it down at all. Feels like something you gotta do a 3 day package on, to really get the feel and mechanics for it. Might fukk around and hit one of these black ski weekends eventually.

Hiking: I’ve done some light hiking in a desert type setting before…thought a light hike in snow wouldn’t be too crazy. But I, personally, dislike going back down steep inclines…for some reason I didn’t account for the snow making that shyt more slippery. :skip:Walking down along cliffs with less than 100% confidence in grip and no sense of how deep the snow was alongside the paths kicked up my anxiety. And then strong snow flurries started popping up. Ended up turning back bout half way thru:sadcam::hubie::mjlol:

(Omw back, the flurries were so strong, they kinda made finding the trail back difficult. Then I come across some big ass moose/elk type tracks that definitely weren’t
there on the way up.)

- The traditional car rentals service prices are outrageous, shyt was looking like 2.5k+ for 6 days. With no guarantee of an AWD. Ended up using Turo instead.

- an AWD vehicle is a must in those type conditions.

- Denver airport is probably the best airport I’ve been to. (although I haven’t been to THAT many, especially foreign)

- Winter activities are pretty expensive, and if you coming from a warm state like Florida. Winter trips in general gonna rack up expenses pretty fast when you account for layers, gear, quality jacket, etc. gotta plan that shyt far in advanced, so nikkas can get their budget right. We had like 2-3 drop out due to the quickly rising cost of the trip (even tho a lot of it was expected).
