good call. The city is dope af. Reminds me of an even more liberal San Francisco

They even got a fake golden gate :heh:

food is dirt cheap as well

Modern part of the city is dope as well, they got this mall that closes at 12am across from where benfica plays

Any of you take a train ride across country?

I think Amtrak got rid of their dining car so that may take away from the experience.

I thought about riding Amtrak after the pleasant experience of riding trains while I was in Spain earlier this year. I have come to the realization that train transportation, in our lifetime, will never meet the same benchmarks and standards that European countries have nor will it be as good. Unless, you live on the east coast, west coast or Chicago, then train travel is just as expensive as a flight AND the average trip takes as long as a Greyhound bus does to get to its destination.

Since I live in OK, for any trip, I have to connect in Dallas/Ft. Worth because OKC doesn't have a route that goes to STL.... which is only like an hour and twenty five minute flight, but by train it's like 15 hours with bus connections. No connections to the midwest hub and I have to go all the way to San Antonio to go to the east or west coast.

I live in the DC area. The only time I take a train is when I go to New York. Go straight from Union Station DC to Penn Station NY.

Normally it's around $50-$60 depending on when it is and takes around 3 hours. I never driven in NY and it looks like a nightmare lol. And the scenery isn't that great either.

But a ride across the country, I just imagine the scenery must be good depending on the route that's taken.

Well, it's official. My next trip will be to Montreal!!!! My intention was to go to Paris, but the strike killed that dream! Also, the way that y'all were talking about it made me curious; watching a few YouTube vacation vlog videos sealed the deal!

My vacation will be between March 27-April 2.... I know it will be still kinda cold, but hopefully there's no ice or snow storms.

Naija / DMV

Just got in today. Gonna be around Ikeja tonight then off to the island tomorrow (Lekki, VI and Ikoyi). So far so good. Lol, I've just been napping. Chillin with the fam for a bit before I head out. Tomorrow's the main day, got this day event to head to and then a few other link ups. Gonna be back to Lagos after the New Year as well.

Gonna bounce around the rest of Nigeria (Abuja and Port Harcourt). Don't think I'll be able to make it to Accra this time around. Too much going on in Nigeria at the moment.

Hot take. I feel like the older I get the more difficult I find it to relate to cats who haven't traveled (and when I say travel I don't mean a week in DR at the resort). Not saying they're bad people by any means but it seems like their outlook on some things can be a bit limited. Anyone else feel like this?
Same here for me. None of my close male friends travel. Even worse because they're the first ones to give opinions about different cities or different countries. I'd get pissed like "how would you know, you ain't never left your city". Plus some would try and tell me how a place was that I had actually traveled to.
