I might to go in autumn, I'm looking to go Curitiba, apparently it's the safest city in the country, at this point I'm too much of a shyt bag to go Rio I don't wanna dress like a local to avoid getting robbed or worse. Fortunately for me I won't be needing apps as Portuguese is my second Language lol only minor issue is my poor writing.

Is this really that true? Like how does one have to dress like a local? So you can't just go with some shorts and a shirt? To you have to go with dated clothes or what?

Yep this is true, my relatives, Brazilian acquaintances, and non-Brazilian acquaintances stated that. My auntie dressed simple yet that didn't help avoid getting robbed. Nah not dated clothing LOL, basically look simple don't be wearing flashy clothing and of course you can go with shorts and a shirt that's not an issue.

Co-sign this. Apple products have a massive mark up in Brazil due to import taxes. What would cost like $800 here in the US would be like $1600 over there. It's always good to keep an old android on file when traveling to more "rugged" countries. I think an s5 is good in between.

Has all the specs of an iPhone 8 but can be got on the cheap.

I don't know if i'd specifically buy a new phone if I had a old iphone lying around.....as long as u don't care if it gets stolen then u can just go with that

Got a business trip to Israel coming up, very hyped to get to that region. I should be out there every 2-3 months, so I’m planning to tack on Jordan, Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, and Turkey to later trips out there.

Also going to confirm with my manager if we’re going to Korea next year :win:

I went in 2016...I feel at home in Northern Africa (well a lot of countries due to my color lol) as well. Morocco, Brazil, Cuba, and Egypt are three places where I felt wholly embraced.

Did you/do you have two passports? They won’t let you into Lebanon with an Israeli stamp. Israel is still considered an enemy state to the Lebanese.
