i went in 2015. maybe i had the wrong concept of bali, but i didn't love it. i guess i was thinking more eat pray love...the remote spiritual, buddhist type bali, when it's really Australia's Cancun, and to that point, even making the adjustment for that, the beaches, at least in the SE where most tourists visit, weren't all that. but it wasn't all bad, great food, coffee, and people.
:dahell: Australian Cancun?! Damn ima see a whole bunch of drunk ass CaCs then?

My cousin and her boyfriend went in September and told me they stayed in Ubud which is straight up in the forest. Told me it was very tranquil and they had a relaxing time. shyt I wanna be close to the airport but don’t wanna deal with any bytch ass Australians:birdman:

A lot of South East Asian beach type places end up being like that for the Aussies and Kiwis. Same thing when I was in Sihanoukville in Cambodia. The Aussies and Kiwis go there to do what they can' their respective countries.

Hmm, so the resorts are kinda like the suburbs, so maybe she chose a real tranquil one. But when you go from your resort into town, it’s very touristy. And I forgot the name of the section, starts with an S, but that’s super ritzy and full of Aussie/kiwi party goers and vacationers. Good news tho, aussies and kiwis are some of the most fun white people I’ve been around lol

It seems like we have the same experiences lol, Aussies know how to party whenever we run into them. Not nearly as uptight or worried about being polite as Englanders

I love this thread, but we need a lot more pictures in here. On that note, I'm finally contributing to it with the main trips that I took this year.

First up is Maui, which was the first time I've been to Hawaii. There's some deserty areas in the middle of the island but the coasts are unbelievable. Did the Road to Hana on the east side of the island...that drive is no joke. :merchant: Locals drive like fukking maniacs along it too. It's a 30-35 mile drive that takes between 90 minutes and two and a half hours. It was pouring during certain sections when I went too. It's just nonstop winding up, up and down the hills/mountains with a ton of one lane roads and blind corners. It's worth it though because some of the views and sights are amazing. Certain areas made me feel like I was on the set of Jurassic Park. There are black sand beaches once you get through it too.

The snorkeling on the west side of the island was my favorite part of being there. First day there we got gear and went to a place called Turtle Town and actually saw a bunch of sea turtles there. They were massive and I even got spooked when one swam right underneath me unexpectedly. Kapalua Bay in Kapalua was the best snorkeling spot I found. Perfect bay with calm waters and tons of fish, turtles and coral.

Second trip was to Tofino and Ucluelet a couple weeks ago to go storm watching. It's a trip in and of itself just to get there. I'm talking a ferry from the mainland of the US or Canada plus a 3-5 hour drive on top of that unless you've got the money to charter a private plane there. The towns are on a peninsula on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the middle of nowhere. The beaches are beautiful there and stretch on forever in quite a few spots. The area is very popular in the summer time even though the water is always pretty cold. Surfing is very popular there because of the great waves.

Anyway, if you're a nature lover and enjoy the peacefulness of the waves, there are plenty of hotels on the water where you will hear the waves crashing all night long from your room. It was nice to be there without very many tourists. Very easy to get in and out of places/park. The views along the coast were spectacular and the nature trails we walked on were great. There are rainforests all over the island. Tons of big waves beating on the coast line. I'll let the pictures say the rest:

Been in the Netherlands since last week (my parents live here) and we've been revisiting restaurants we used to eat at both here and in Germany since we've lived in both countries. Going to Belgium next week.

Next time I visit I'll take a train to London, visit Paris again if they aren't still protesting and see more of Italy.

I would like to hit up more castles and do more hiking but it's too cold for that right now.

So I'm on a flight right now coming back from NY.. .I dont know if it's just an Economy/Premium Economy class cabin thing but my last 2 flights I've dealt with an abundance of people busting ass. Damn cabin smells like fart. I'm usually up front in 1st/business and it's not bad up there cause of a less concentration of people and better circulation. I couldn't deal with this shyt on a longer flight smh
