Well, it's official. The flight for my first international trip has been booked. I'm going to Spain from late March into early April 2019. Barcelona is where I'm spending most of my vacation, but I'll be making stops in:

Madrid(where I'll be first arriving when I fly into the country.... ridiculous layover tho)

San Sebastian: Beaches and bytches

Logroño: La Rioja Wine Country

Gijón: Chuleton and Cider

In Barcelona, I plan on seeing FC Barcelona play twice before leaving. Two pretty good games. Catalan Derby vs Espanyol and against Atlético de Madrid.

Plenty of tapas, churros and sangria while I'm there.

Any other places I should visit? I know I didn't even mention southern Spain.

Also, what should I expect being African-American

Barcelona is my favorite city outside the US I've been to - I think, I really love that place.

I would say arrive early to 1 of the 2 Barcelona games, the official store is amazing and humungous and you might need 1 hour in there, I did.
Of course get tapas and eat some bocadillos and jamon serrano.

I would def go to bunkers de carmel - Bunker del Carmel (Barcelona) - 2018 All You Need to Know Before You Go (with Photos) - TripAdvisor
The views are amazing of the whole city and there's space to just chill and relax. it's a little hike up there but worth it.

Not sure what you're into but Parc Guell is worth going to, and La Sagarda Familia (even if you're not religious, it's very nice architecture)

Have fun, I hope you like it like I did.

Hope you got that good money or your a IT Contractor, those places are very pricey.

Those places are pretty close to the London attractions.

Bro, those were some amazing shots. Btw, what camera/phone did you use to take these?

To me NYC really is the GOAT city. Even just walking around is an adventure of it's own. I always do NYC at least once a summer but I think I might need to check it out during fall, when the humidity is down and the days are cooler.

What sealed NYC as that city for me was when I biked all around the city this summer. That was when I knew NYC really has something for anyone and everyone. GOAT city hands down. London is up there as well, but the scale of NYC trumps that of London.

I'll need to post up my pics from my little Euro trip.

Side Note: I'm surprised I didn't take as many pictures as I could have/should have. I guess I know I'll always pass through Europe again in the future.

How many of you fly for the thanksgiving holiday? Any of you fly on thanksgiving day?

There must be a way to get cheaper tickets for that week.

For domestic travel, forget about it. Thanksgiving is just one of those holidays in which tickets will always be expensive.

For int’l travel, however, Thanksgiving is one of the best US holidays to travel. Key thing is you want to make sure you’re flying direct. Any domestic layovers and you could be in for trouble due too delays from other domestic travel, etc.

I had actually seen some good flights to Colombia from DC the Wed before Thanksgiving ~$600 round trip. My company does a half day before every major holiday (most people just work from home).

I could have left Tuesday afternoon, got in that same night (Bogota is in the same time zone as DC so no jet lag) and “worked” from home for like 3 hours on Wed and have the rest of the week up until Sunday to explore.

:ehh:

5 nights in Colombia would have been clutch, but the fam said they were gonna come in from Nigeria.

Thanks, I was just using my S8 Plus

Yeah really loved NYC, it just has everything. London of course I bias is up there

But with anywhere in USA, everything is just so huge. Also I never got the cliche that NY people are rude etc, maybe it was my English charm lol but any area I went I felt cool.

Brooklyn by far my fave area, shopping in Downtown BK is so good, stuff so cheap Jimmy Jazz was my shop lol

Harlem reminded me of Kingston, Jamaica with the hustle and bustle, street sellers, loud music, preaching and the best food there.

Even went to Ruckers park too, that area damn, just wanted to help everyone out there, saw a lot of sad sights\poverty
:wow:

Def would go again and dedicate 1 whole day to Central Park, we hired bikes but only stayed there for a few hours.

Nah it a domestic flight. I'm in DC as well. I fly every year but was just wondering if there was a way to avoid the cost.

I'm considering flying on the actual Thanksgiving Day this year. Normally I'd leave a day or two before since I like to help prepare. But damn it cost so much and I'm trying to save money.

If you're from London you won't notice it. New York is a dense, fast moving city. If you're not used to the direct, matter of fact demeanor of its residents, then you'll feel people are rude. I, as well, never felt people to be rude. I know how it is when you just want to get from Point A to B as quickly as possible. Same thing with Paris. A lot of people claim Parisians are rude but I just saw it like they (Parisians) are just trying to get from A to B without having to deal with a million tourists that don't speak their language.

You did well with the bike rentals. Biking NYC is GOAT! Every corner is a different adventure.
