When are you scheduled to go? I’m sure their immigration office is slammed from Brexit effects. Will you need a visa for EU countries? If not, land in London then continue on to France, Spain, etc.

Scheduled last weekend in Aug through 1st week in Sep.

I'll still need to apply for the Schengen (Euro) visa after the UK visa.

Thing about the UK and Brexit is that the UK was always kind of "soft" in the Eurozone. Never had the single currency and wasn't fully entrenched in the Schengen zone (you'd need a seprate visa to go to the UK).

My round trip is out of London so in the rare case I get approved the UK visa but denied the Schengen visa then I'll just spend my 9 days in the UK. Got mad fam and friends there so I should be good.

But 2 weeks is kinda long. 2 summer ago I got my visa in like 4 days. I even applied like 2 weeks before my trip.

Essentially the letter states that you have a long term commitment to your job/role and you will return once your visa period is over.

I wasn't trynna tell my manger about my holiday plans until like 2-3 weeks out. Now I gotta tell him 2 months in advance and he likes to be on that when people try to take off from work.

He hasn't taking any time off in like 5-6 years so he wouldn't understand

Yep. He just became my manager not too long ago and I'm still trying to feel him out. Not the most personable person. He said his last holiday was a little Euro trip when he graduated college.

Breh is 30 yrs old and that was 8 years ago. I understand people want to get ahead in life, but you gotta take a break every now and then to reflect and reassess your progress.

I'm a huge advocate to take atleast two vacations a year movement. unless you are a cop or a medic then no job is that important to where you cant take some time away..

Exactly. Dude worked in Consulting before this gig so he was racked up. Even if you don't wanna travel, just take a few days off work and stay at home. Staycations work pretty well.

A ton of chinese but even they are bad but yall black and white chicks look way better than ones in a lot of US cities. I notice a lot of sisters out here rock their natural hair too

For you, I'd say go after Christmas. You don't have family there so it's not like you'll be missing out on much, although Nigeria bubbles up a lot more during Christmas.

I, on the other hand, have a lot of family and friends that will be flying in then. Christmas also has a lot of Nigerians in the diaspora in the country so a lot of networking opportunities.

Just chcked elections are in feb so I could go in Jan

Yea, I'm definitely going back to South Africa. I just gotta do it a 2nd time and do it right. Might do 10 days this time, like 3-4 in Cape Town then the rest in Jozi.

I already got Europe + Nigeria/Ghana for this year. I'll probably make South Africa my 2nd trip of 2019 after that Brazil/Colombia trip.

Was in Milan for a couple of days stayed at the Mandarin Hotel

Only had time to go to the shopping areas around the Duomo and eat some unreal food. Found an unbelievable dinner spot called Majestic Bar. Their insalata with tuna avocado and cream cheese, main course was a simple margherita pizza and washed it down with some unbelievable red wine.

Now we in Tuscany outside of Lucca for 2 weeks

Gonna hit up Pisa, Florence, maybe Sienna and some coastal beaches
