My friend from college (UNCG) started that company. Zim. We use to play in this church on Sundays started by this bishop from NYC, she would sing with two other girls and I'd be one of the musicians. the church itself was a flop though, he was in town for like almost two years and didn't have a single new member. The services would have been completely empty were it not for his huge family of 8 kids and relatives. it was literally us and his family every Sunday and we were paid to be there, lmao

It's a company that encourages youth black professionals to travel and make ways to travel and support yourself. when they first got started I would watch some Skype episodes where they talked about tips to build up the ability to travel freely

I know that there is a certain disconnect between some black folks and traveling. I get it. I just think it's sorta weird that some heads into the #travelnoire thing be doing the humblestunt on people who don't travel. Also, how/why are travel tips from Travel Noire any different from travel tips from any other website/source? I mean damn, is the disconnect that great that travel blogs and Lonely Planet books don't apply to us too? I get it that Travel Noire is trying to cater to/encourage us but I low key find it condescending

i understand, i felt like it comes off a little like that too. the bigger difference is they're trying to network blacks together, and the age range (millennials), and the inner opportunities to create more media for travelnoire based on documenting your travel, thereby creating a bigger personal mark for yourself within travelnoire. basically, if you travel already for work or if you use their travel hacks and reap benefits, you can also become part of their staff in different capacities.

Just booked my flight to Manila and Bangkok for February

Can't fukking wait since this will be my first time in Asia. I got plans to go to 6 countries this year. I'm not sure where I'm gonna go in October, I might up Haiti since I've never been there.
