I've noticed as I've gotten older certain things disturb me more than they used to. After having a kid it's really hard for me to watch violence against children. That one scene in Doctor Sleep with the baseball kid was rough :picard:
Oh that’s facts !!! .. that has to be it!!! My reaction is on cringe this time around. I said the same thing in my comments on this thread a few months ago after watching horror movies that had kids in roles and Dr. sleep!! I’ve had 2 kids since 2009 ; it definitely hits different, for real. I cant process the thought. One scene in this movie early on is hard to watch. Same thing with The Outsider series - totally different feeling watching these movies pre- children and after having your own. That’s one reason why I haven’t ventured into watching Dr. Sleep again, the little boy in the woods when he was abducted. My heart sank. Good movie but that was brutal; the line between movie and not projecting that type of emotional reaction on your own child gets blurry. Depends on the movie too - if it’s graphic for the sake of being “torture porn” and violence against kids - I won’t continue watching it. That’s a whole no, for me. “IT” is one of the reasons I don’t let my kids play outside alone unless their right in the front or within eye range while I’m outside watching them

Yesss I feel you 100%. That scene in doctor sleep was so raw and it kept going and going I never thought it would end lol. I've never seen the outsider series should I check it out?? And I watch my kid like a hawk! Prob too overprotective but the world can be a fukked up place :sadcam:

Just got Shudder back after letting it go in November. What did I miss? (Don’t say 3from hell)
Dead Lands
Daniel Isn't Real
Room
Satanic Panic
Creepshow The Series
Nekrotronic
The Marshes
Bliss
Luz

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

The Furies was turn your brain off and just ride with it fun. Dope killer designs, creative kills and an interesting enough premise. The story was one of those "these guys have ideas but don't know how to make it all connect" ish, but to it's great for almost a shlocky version of the Hunt.

Starry Eyes is one of those "how bad do you want to make it" horrors kinda like Neon Demon but it goes off the rails insane for the final act. They did the Hollywood sleaze thing which had impact in light of recent real world stories.

I really wasn't feeling The Room. Wound up tapping out halfway through bored and thinking it was corny.

Kinda feel like I liked Daniel Isn't Real more when it was being subtle and building up...

Shudder subscription got some mileage.

On their search for the perfect home, Gemma (Imogen Poots) and Tom (Jesse Eisenberg) visit a new house in a labyrinthine suburban neighbourhood. When they attempt to leave, each road mysteriously takes them back to where they started, leading them on a mind-bending trip, trapped in a surreal nightmare.

This movie was pretty quirky.
A lot of stuff happens that makes little sense and the movie does nothing to provide satisfying answers in any way.
Imogen Poots acted her ass off though and pretty much carried the whole movie.

Since we’re isolated and to curb the boredom; I came across a few horror listen along stories or no sleep/bedtime short stories. I haven’t had a chance to fully vet this series , I listen to it in the background while I clean or cook. Here’s a recent one if anyone is interested:

@CourtesyFlush did you get a chance to watch?
:lupe:

So yes but I didn't get to finish it! I have maybe a half hour to go. I was definitely feeling it. A few of the home footage scenes were really creepy and well done! One thing that annoys me that this and alot of other found footage movies do is the loud static sound every couple minutes on the home videos. It's not realistic and super annoying. If you know what I'm talking about.
