Annihilation was great in a lot of ways but I wish they worked on the character dynamic a bit more. Portman is good at just being her (or not, doesn’t matter to me cause I’ve been in love with her far too long to not be biased lol) and JJ Leigh is always great.
I was gonna say, while we’re on the topic, Sophia Takal (director of the new Black Christmas and Mumblegore alumnus) has a movie called “New Year, New You” which is a bit of a psychological horror about women in a confined space with some mystery in the backstory. It’s a good newish indie horror so I thought I’d plug it.

Yeah. Lotta film nerds on there so I get a kick out of the tons of backstory a lot of them bring about movies with a lot or sometimes only a little notoriety. Also tons of terrible reviewers just making doofy clickbait reviews
I would have liked to spend more time with the characters in Annihilation before the alien environment started screwing with them mentally and physically.
And New Year, New You is one of the better entries in Hulu's Into The Dark series.
