Just finished The Conspiracy. Found footage meets conspiracy theories, and I was actually very pleasantly surprised. It's short and sweet and for some reason reminded me of the The Cult short from V/H/S 2.

I took some heavy, self inflicted losses word to @EarlyMaridia

I watched 3 of the worst films I've watched since I started this ,3 nights in a row :damn:

I decided to watch sequels to horror films I had never seen :dahell:

2013 slasher film with a 55% RT score :rudy:

Like I said, I've never seen any of the other films in the horror films I watched. I read a quick synopsis on the first 2 so I wouldnt be lost :troll: This is a standard slasher film. It was the best of the 3 I watched

Its very low budget and hatchet seems to be a very thinly veiled jason rip off. Hes an immortal that lives in the swamp. I was never a fan of Jason movies anyway beyond how dumb they were and a few funny kills. And thats pretty much the same with this one.:yeshrug: Honestly the kills were okay, appropriately gorey but the effects and make up were pretty cheesey. Its just a lazy homage to me,you might as well just watch the real Jason.

:wtf: how the fukk are there 6 wrong turn films?!?6?!?!

This is a 2014 film that doesnt even have enough reviews for a RT. :dead: an ominous sign.

Jesus christ this movie is bad. I have to watch the first one now just to see how this franchise started. :snoop:

Just look at this shyt

Thats the creature Im supposed to be scared of . I have nothing good to say about this thing. Its an abomination of a film. There is only 1 scene that was even entertaining, involving them killing a guy by sticking a fire hose in a dudes ass and pumping him full of water. At this point I feel watching this on a friday night alone led me to have some deep dark thoughts about the wrong turns Ive made in my life that led me to watch this.

0/10

And lastly,mercilessly, I watched

Joy-Ride-3-Roadkill-2014-Front-Cover-90841.jpg

Another 2014 film with no RT score

This film isnt as bad as wrong turn 6. Thats the best praise I can give. But its just flat out boring. Theres no suspense,no tension,no creativity. Its just, there, existing for some reason. How I felt watching this film is how I feel when I didnt make reservations at a restaurant and I have to sit there in a lobby waiting. Just knowing Im getting older by the second.

The movie is about a renegade truck driver killer named rusty nail, i assume hes been the star of the other 2. Some annoying 20 somethings are on their way to a race and on their way they cut off rusty nail in traffic. So he hunts them down and kills them. The end.:pachaha:

1/10 for the crack whore sex opening.

:ooh:Pontypool was an incredibly original take on the zombie genre. Didn't know he was at the helm here

I heard it was originally a radio show which probably turned out to help the concept and execution. Definitely gotta peep out the next movie from that director, Pontypool is fire.

Watched a sh-tload of older horror flicks throughout the past few weeks with my cable out over some BS mistake comcast made...

The Silenced... Korean horror/thriller flick... was solid up until the ending IMO I can see some folks liking it.
Dolly Dearest.. 1992 cheesy horror flick.. made my niece and nephew watch this for acting up and they were shook I just sat back and laughed.
Dolls... classic horror flick.
Ghosthouse... wack cheesy 80's horror flick
The Boy... was alright, shyt was a little too long to get the point. Far from horrible.
Dead Alive.. classic, gory flick
The Town That Dreaded Sundown... the remake was alright basically a slasher/whodunit type flick.
Night Of The Demons... one of my favoritie 80's horror movies, it's cheesy but it has geniune creepy moments in it.
Body Bags.. wasn't bad liked it more when I caught on Showtime back n the day.

I watched The Boy off the strength of the commercials and thought it was ok. I gotta agree with Bruce Leroy about it being too long. There were severely times I found myself bored through parts of film.

The Gallows sucked and this is coming from a found footage fan.

A 2010 film with an 84% RT:jbhmm:

This is a smaller budget Canadian film. Its a horror comedy/satire. I have to say I was blown away by how much I loved this film:ohhh:. I went in blind and had no idea what it was other than a silly looking poster. Its basically a satire film,in the vein of a cabin in the woods or youre next to some extent. Even though I thought both those films were nicely done I cant say I actually enjoyed watching them or would rewatch them. But this, not only am i going to rewatch it Im going to buy it. Instead of being like cabin... where its oh look how clever I am,arent I clever esque writing:troll:,it uses comedy to get its point across. There was scenes that legit had me in tears of laughter. The way they subverted some of the tropes with very very clever scene arrangements was :pachaha: And katrina bowden is sexy as fukk, any 30 rock fan will recognize her as cerie.

9/10
Tucker & Dale is one of my absolute all-time favorite comedy-horror movies (that is actually a good idea for a Film Room Movie list if we ever do those again).

Last up is

A 2012 film with a 72%RT

I had avoided this film due to the fact the poster looks like some syfy shyt. :sadcam: but riding off the high of tucker and dale I was like might as well bring myself down :upsetfavre: and dived in.

:leon: Another hidden gem! Now its not perfect by any means but I was surprised as hell. Its a monster film that takes place in ireland. The shots of ireland were :lawd: you can tell very easily this film wears its shaun of the dead influence on its sleeve. Right down to a couple homage scenes and a pub playing a key factor. One of the plot reveals involves the characters needing to be drunk :heh: which leads to some hilarious scenes. Its part monster film, part satire, part homage. And it works quite well. The cgi on the grabbers is also a nice surprise. I enjoyed this one. The humour isnt quite on edgar wrights level (whos is?) But not bad at all. :win:

7/10

Grabber is another really fun movie.

I agree with you on how bad Hatchet 3 is. Hatchet 2 is pretty shytty too actually. I would recommend the original Hatchet just because it had had a more fun tongue in cheek kind of vibe to it than the sequels had.
