watching some shyt called Lost After Dark
Just finished The Conspiracy. Found footage meets conspiracy theories, and I was actually very pleasantly surprised. It's short and sweet and for some reason reminded me of the The Cult short from V/H/S 2.
Pontypool was an incredibly original take on the zombie genre. Didn't know he was at the helm here
Verdict?watching some shyt called Lost After Dark
shyt was wackVerdict?
The Boy... the joint with David Morse right?I watched The Boy off the strength of the commercials and thought it was ok. I gotta agree with Bruce Leroy about it being too long. There were severely times I found myself bored through parts of film.
The Gallows sucked and this is coming from a found footage fan.
Tucker & Dale is one of my absolute all-time favorite comedy-horror movies (that is actually a good idea for a Film Room Movie list if we ever do those again).Next up is
A 2010 film with an 84% RT
This is a smaller budget Canadian film. Its a horror comedy/satire. I have to say I was blown away by how much I loved this film. I went in blind and had no idea what it was other than a silly looking poster. Its basically a satire film,in the vein of a cabin in the woods or youre next to some extent. Even though I thought both those films were nicely done I cant say I actually enjoyed watching them or would rewatch them. But this, not only am i going to rewatch it Im going to buy it. Instead of being like cabin... where its oh look how clever I am,arent I clever esque writing,it uses comedy to get its point across. There was scenes that legit had me in tears of laughter. The way they subverted some of the tropes with very very clever scene arrangements was And katrina bowden is sexy as fukk, any 30 rock fan will recognize her as cerie.

I had avoided this film due to the fact the poster looks like some syfy shyt. but riding off the high of tucker and dale I was like might as well bring myself down and dived in.
Another hidden gem! Now its not perfect by any means but I was surprised as hell. Its a monster film that takes place in ireland. The shots of ireland were you can tell very easily this film wears its shaun of the dead influence on its sleeve. Right down to a couple homage scenes and a pub playing a key factor. One of the plot reveals involves the characters needing to be drunk which leads to some hilarious scenes. Its part monster film, part satire, part homage. And it works quite well. The cgi on the grabbers is also a nice surprise. I enjoyed this one. The humour isnt quite on edgar wrights level (whos is?) But not bad at all.

I agree with you on how bad Hatchet 3 is. Hatchet 2 is pretty shytty too actually. I would recommend the original Hatchet just because it had had a more fun tongue in cheek kind of vibe to it than the sequels had.
2013 slasher film with a 55% RT score
Like I said, I've never seen any of the other films in the horror films I watched. I read a quick synopsis on the first 2 so I wouldnt be lost This is a standard slasher film. It was the best of the 3 I watched
Its very low budget and hatchet seems to be a very thinly veiled jason rip off. Hes an immortal that lives in the swamp. I was never a fan of Jason movies anyway beyond how dumb they were and a few funny kills. And thats pretty much the same with this one. Honestly the kills were okay, appropriately gorey but the effects and make up were pretty cheesey. Its just a lazy homage to me,you might as well just watch the real Jason.
