Which one? There was a The Gift from the early 2000s or the newest film with Jason Bateman from recent?Bought The Gift recently. Never seen it before, so I’m interested to see if it lives up to the hype.

One of Trick’s masks can be seen in the aforementioned first-look image at the top of this article, but Lussier tells us that Trick will wear many masks throughout the film.
This was snooze status for me, no point to it, in the same vein of Velvet Buzzsaw.
I wanted to like it more than I did but by the time it was over I was just lukewarm about it.
Madeline Brewer was good though.
I kind of like the idea of a nondescript serial killer mask or identifier as a break from the formula... depends on the execution though. (pun not intended). Seems like from the background story this could maybe pull it off..This right here from the article:
I would advise them against doing that. A slasher movie killer needs to have a recognizable mask/look to have any shot at reaching icon status.

The one with Michael BluthWhich one? There was a The Gift from the early 2000s or the newest film with Jason Bateman from recent?
Arrested development . Yeah, that was a good movie imo. Been awhile since I watched but from my recall it was an interesting watch. The one with Michael Bluth
I watched about 30-40 minutes. Reminds me of One Hour Photo.Arrested development . Yeah, that was a good movie imo. Been awhile since I watched but from my recall it was an interesting watch.
Velvet looked kinda...too post modern horror for me. like the horror movie that doesn't want to be a horror movie but is about the nature of horror movies. Which can be cool if in the right hands...unfortunately, the only right hands for that passed away a few years ago. If it ain't Craven, I'm probably not interested
I may give it a look then. But it just feels like something Craven would’ve made a home runThat's exactly what it was and unfortunately the horror bits never clicked, but on the post modern tip it was a great satire of the art world on the other side.

Craven would have been absolutely perfect for it. They needed someone with real horror chops to handle that aspect because every horror scene flops (every single one). There are cool concepts though, it just failed at being scary. The humor bodied me though.
