wow, I was expecting something way more half-assed. also didn't know tyree-henry was gonna be the main cop. I'll actually prob try to see this now

came up in my reccs- never heard of this until now. Looks worth checking out.

it's one of those movies that gives you the feeling that one of two things are going on:

1. They tried for something extremely esoteric and fell short of getting their message across. Like they wanted to get a message across in the way that the entire film is presented, tone wise, and it didnt quite connect (with me and most people, at least)
2. There was an entire element of the story that didnt get filmed, or was cut out, that would make it make more sense..

I knew that the production got halted for some reason and they ended up with less than what they wanted by the time it got edited. This movie is a strange case because the director is obviously competent, he has made some great movies. But it comes off almost like a parody. It has a super oddball tone....down to the fact that the main character is named "Harry Hole"....

it's decent, I was entertained. But for me, since I was into the show, Frasier - it was like if Niles finally had a psychotic breakdown from his experiences- cut of all ties with Frasier, his dad, Daphne and let his evil introverted obsessive-compulsive perfectionist alter ego take over completely void of any rationality.
edit- my imagination is active tho, so you may have a different experience or if you didn't watch the show.

Aaaand now that the movie is over didn’t like it. It’s gory as hell so props for that but that shyt doesn’t work. Great idea: three thieves crash this party of serial killers in recovery. Awesome premise...that they really don’t do shyt with. Then my other issues go into spoilers so I won’t do that but

I think Halloween (2018) is giving everybody a blueprint to work from, for these remakes. That Chucky remix ish they've been on in the past, is not going to work, they had to up the bar this time. At least I hope that's the case - I like the way they updated to include the technology aspects and interaction. Looks good as long as the implementation is there.

sounds like a whole mess of a movie. (unless it's a fukkery watch) I don't like the feeling of watching the first 30 mins of a movie, feeling committed to watch the rest even tho it sux, just to see how it plays out. Kind of like how I feel watching "Chambers" , I'm 3 eps in...

facts! every horror movie over the last 10-15+ years doesn't need a damn remake. No one asked for or wanted that What's next - a remake of The Blob, House of Wax??I hope they don't run the "remake" concepts into the ground like they did with "found footage" - reality cam shaky footage, "based on evidence obtained from the scene, no one survived" era.

I did not like that movie at all.

My thoughts after I first saw it:

I didn't like it. There was def a odd vibe to it and it kinda got a bit too to me by the midway point.
