I just watched the first Friday the Thirteenth last week so this ish was especially hilarious in how it took on typical tropes and horror cliches. Definitely a fun horror-comedy.

If you liked this youd probably like this other joint that came out a lil while back called "The Finals Girls."

That's one of my favorite recent horror flicks. They both picked fire angles to approach camp slashers for comedy but with love. I'm big on the deconstructing tropes approach since so much horror is formulaic.

Definitely gotta peep that. I've heard of Never Sleep Again and I'm hella overdue to check it out; had no clue about Camp Crystal Lake Memories though...that's goin' on my watch list for ASAP.

I completely forgot about this movie so I had to go back to the movie thread to see what my opinion was :

Saw it.
Not horrible but nothing that I would recommend anyone leave their homes and pay money to see.
The kills were mediocre but the tension levels were pretty good and I liked the idea of a non-descript serial killer being the killer instead of something hokey like a guy who's life was ruined by a Halloween maze or something ridiculous.
