I thought the gun scene was really promising but everything before and after was garbage. I felt like it had a premise with potential just off the strength of that one scene but never came through (and even killed the value of that scene with the next moment talking to the cops).

Well see I initially took it as her being upset and couldn’t face facts she was wrong. Lol I didn’t put it together that she and the crazy son were fukking, which is why he’d kill anyone fukking because the initial scene was his moms and a guy fukking and that set him off. So the last scene, which was creepy as hell anyway with the way she was touching her other son? Yeah I completely got it once joe bob put it together for me.

I could see how that would be what some people got from it. Without a doubt Mom was crazy too but they tended to go very light with the incest insinuation in the actual film.
I got more that Mom was a prudish crazy lady who found sex distasteful as evidenced by how not into she seemed with both of her suitors in the 2 scenes with intimacy in them. And I just assumed she pushed that idea that sex was bad onto her kids.

Joe’s interpretation is that the killer and mom were incestuous and the only person he could ever do anything with was his mother. Which is why her being engaged set him off. And why she refused to get handsy or kiss the guy in his presence. So at the end she kills herself because she not only killed her son but also her lover.

at first I thought the mom just thought she killed the wrong one. She never actually saw who was killing, so saw one with the machete and shot. Plus it would make sense that the girl be pulling her dude out of the pool, although she was saying Todd. But the incest angle makes sense.

But damn that shyt went crazy at the end
