Stephen king disagrees with that. Very very much lol. He was just on Eli Roth’s AMC horror show and said the shining is like a beautiful restored Cadillac with no engine in it
I've always heard that while he's undoubtably entitled to his opinion as the author, I have to respectfully say he's wilding :russ:

Jack ranting about the relatively simple task of watching over an empty hotel during a blizzard like an absolute madman :wow:. He sounds like a stark raving lunatic and that's exactly what he is! With the elevator lobby getting more flooded with blood the more he loses his mind (a recurring theme throughout the movie).

Conversations with an imaginary bartender that reveals he isn't much of a husband or father :ohlawd:

Leave....the hotel? :leavethehotel:

Coming to terms with his life as a failed author while this haunted hotel has a grasp on his soul :wow:

An absolute classic :sacreblawd:

Well he’s said this: it’s a great movie but not a great adaptation and I think that’s a good distinction to make. He says it misses and gets wrong a lot of things his book was saying but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great movie. The shining is dope as hell but I respect where he’s coming from when he says it misses the point of the book entirely. Kubrick was more or less inspired by the shining rather than adapting it

Stephen King puts his ego as an author over the quality of filmmaking though. There is almost no disputing that the shining is a great horror movie, who gives a fukk if they didn't include hedge animals and all the other shyt in his book

I didn't really like Cam on first watch but I can appreciate its full follow-through on ambiguity. Gotta try again.

Anyone seen "darknet"?

It's a Canadian horror anthology series (one season, 6 episodes) from 2013. Probably the best known name attached to it is Vincenzo Natali.

Anyway, it's been damn near impossible to find (not on Netflix, not on DVD/Blu-Ray, not even on most torrent sites)....someone uploaded it to Youtube a few months ago.

It's not the greatest shyt ever or anything but it's kinda cool. And the episodes are only 30ish minutes long so it's easy to binge.

If you can find a browser add-on that lets you download video (like FVD, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work on Youtube now) you can just download it from the Youtube page I linked.
