"Fun Slasher" is a good descriptor for me to describe a slasher movie that is still hard horror and not a comedy/horror movie but overall just really enjoyable in a fast food kinda way.
Stuff like Silent Night, Deadly Night or My Bloody Valentine are what I consider "fun slasher" flicks.
Yeah. They’re not nihilistic. The stakes are still high but it’s not overly serious or dreadful.
Oh ok! I liked both of those . The Fog would be similar in that category too.
Yeah most 80s slashers are in that category. Prey At Night is a throwback to those. All the Friday the 13th's are in that category. Some of them way too much tho

I watched The Windmill, a Dutch horror about a man who made a deal with the devil to bring him guilty souls. Some gory/bery bloody scenes but not particularly scary they could have fleshed out the devil-worshipping part.
Hereditary was fantastic, one of the best movies (not just "horror" movies) I've seen in years.
It seems most of the people online that didnt care for it are the type that think the Saw and Paranormal Activity movies are the pinnacle of film making.

The old paralyzed by choice. When people say theirs nothing to watch on Netflix etc I assume that's what they mean. Their is just so much it's overwhelming and you can't pick something.
Yes! I have more saved movies and shows on My List than what I have actually watched. Same applies for my amazon prime watchlist. It’s more like too many options and I’m already indecisive enough as it is. Then when a “recently added” title comes out... I’ll add that too. Never ending cycle.
For example. I have The Frankenstein Chronicles on My List for almost a year now and they’re already at season 2... just finished season 1 of Slasher, Death Note - 43 mins remaining ... lol. (Last movie I finished watching was 47 meters down- much better than I expected)
And that’s just the horror/thriller category of unwatched titles.
I’m hearing that people liked it a lot and thought it was good or have your opinion, lol. I haven’t seen it yet...Hereditary was complete ass cheeks.

Then I think I will like Herditary bc I wasn’t that impressed with Paranormal Activity... or Saw. Saw was decent bc of the shock value elements but after the first 3.. it was enough already. That found footage and torture genres got over saturated. Blair Witch to me, was just .. ok.
