Okay, just finished From S2 finally ,,, about to load up S3
'Thanksgiving' was really fun. Some of the kills were nasty for sure but the humor in it was landing. It's a legit funny movie...
This is a GOAT-tier comedy horror to me...it's absolutely nuts.Want to plug some Xmas horrors that are pretty solid watches
Day of the Beast -
Spanish/Italian movie, a priest is trying to prevent the birth of the Antichrist on Christmas Eve with the help of a metalhead and an occult fraudster. This movie is bananas
An on-the-run convict looking for temporary cover finds it at the house of a very colorful character.
Vampire Hunter D and Hellsing were FIRE vampire anime! Wicked City is...very extra. Perfect Blue is an all-time horror movie for me. Not just all-time horror anime, but purely an all-time horror movie. There are a handful of iconic Christopher Nolan moments, that are straight shot for shot pulled from Perfect Blue.I watched some anime movies over the weekend. Looking to get into Wicked City, Demon City Shinjuku, and Perfect Blue this week. Madhouse looks like they've been on their shyt
Vampire Hunter D(1985)
This was one of the first anime anythings I ever watched as a kid. Back in the day the Sci-fi channel played this and Akira all the time. The movie was alright but I don't think it holds up over the years. A major plot point is that all the antagonist keep trying to get in this one girl's pants. The creature designs are still incredible.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust(2000)
I rewatched this for the first time since it came out. This was . I wish they still made R Rated action horror movies like this. This shyt was cinematic. I won't wait 24 years to see this again.
It was crazy I immediately recognized Pamela Aldon's voice as Leila after seeing her in some tv shows. The Gate 2 was pretty wild. I still like the first one more though.

I also think Perfect Blue hits even more today as people are more aware of parasocial relationships than ever.
I've heard Paprika is more of a thriller/mystery with some horror elements. I haven't watched it, but I hear good things. Kon's anime series Paranoia Agent has some elements of psychological horror too. I remember watching it on Adult Swim when I was younger, and a couple of episodes creeped me out.Have you watched Paprika? I saw the story synopsis and that seems very similar to inception. I'm not sure if its horror or not, but it came up when I googled their horror movies. I put that on the list. I should probably add The Cell on there too.
watch Black Friday, it’s basically that scene stretched into a movie with appearances from Michael Jai White & Bruce Campbellthat black Friday store scene had me rolling
The elevator scene is soooo elite. I agree that animation was a benefit for Kon to really lean into the surrealism (like the way the killer floats and bounces around during the final chase sequence).‘Perfect Blue’ was my first foray into adult animation growing up. Had the occasional bump-in with raunchy humor in a late night cartoon, but nothing as disturbing as seeing the spiral of a beloved pop star.
In my eyes then, I was so used to seeing celebs portrayed as sunshine and rainbows in the media that I hardly ever thought of how much of a nightmare fame can be. Film opened my eyes in a lot of ways as a youngin’. This came before the Björk stalker case, too. Really had no business watching it then, but I’m glad I did.
Thewas the exact moment I told myself this was gonna hit different. I love it when films just go for it and this one had plenty of those moments. All these years and it still has a unique way of invoking dread. I know Aronofsky borrowed heavy from it with ‘Black Swan’, but ‘Perfect Blue’ being animated benefitted the story better when it came to showcasing those surreal mind-games to the audience, IMO.envelope bomb
