Horror thread's 31 days of Halloween List -

24. Sinister (Max)

Definitely one of the creepiest movies out there.
they should have had the demon appear later and leaned on the cult/serial killer angle longer.

the scenes with the kids running around playing in slow motion while the rest of the scene continued at normal speed were unsettling

i felt it lost something at the end...but the first half is excellent. it just trails off to me near the end
and the studio mandated jumpscare at the end should have been left out

I watched Terrifier 3

Lauren LaVera as Sienna makes the movie for me. I can't think of another slasher that covers what her character deals with in the movie.

'Midsommar'. WTF did I just watch LOL. First let me say, it's visually stunning and creative in various ways but wow what the fukk? Some great acting from my girl Florence Pugh here and I gave this a watch mostly because it's written and directed by Ari Aster from 'Hereditary' fame which is one of my favorite creepy ass horrors of the past ten years. This was also unsettling but very different. I think it's worth the watch for sure but I don't know if I could say it's got a lot of replay value going for it.

‘Sinister’ (2012)

I want the old Blumhouse intro back. Not a fan of the new one.

— I want the old Blumhouse back.

Really like how intimate this is, and the fact that it could do so much in a small-scale setting. No shade to the rest of the cast, but I think the flick shines the most when it’s just Ethan in the dark room with his Super 8 projector, uncovering those nightmarish snuff films and knowing damn well he’s watching something he has no business seeing.

My only real nitpick is that I wasn’t a fan of the ghost kids playing hide and seek from Hawke in the background. The intent was to spook the audience but all I could do was laugh at the whole sequence.

I think it’s hilarious how the family ended up moving into an even creepier house, with a creepier attic.

I felt sad for the rest of that family in the end, but I didn’t for Ethan’s character. Bro moved into a murder house for the clout and spiraled the more he realized he was next up to get murder house’d.

This is easily my favorite joint from Derrickson and another case of a banger soundtrack taking a film to another level. The glow-up of watching C. Robert Cargill shoot the shyt on the Spill.com roundtable to writing tight horror scripts is crazy.

It certainly isn't the most fun movie, but there's a lot of things you wouldn't notice the first time you watch it.

Here's a video if you prefer that medium. Idk which YouTube video is the best for this movie.

Edit: Ayo wait YouTube recommended me this video about Midsommar that's 7 hours long :dead: I might watch it in parts:francis:

Watching ‘Se7en’ right now. The opening credits never fail to unnerve the fukk outta me. Sure as hell does a good job transporting you inside the mind of a serial killer. The decision to utilize the remix for NIN’s ‘Closer’. Kyle Cooper is a fukkin’ GOAT.

Makes me wonder if Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross would go on to become frequent collaborators with Fincher over the next two decades if this flick never happened and I’m glad it did.

The GOAT Halloween dropped on this day.

Also, Azrael hit Shudder today. I'm hype for this watch.

My local Alamo (and probably all locations) is hosting a screening for OG ‘Halloween’ on Halloween night. No hesitation on the ticket purchase since I’ve never watched it in theaters before.

I watched Operation Blood Hunt 2024

This movie was actually kinda fun. You got Rampage Jackson playing a Blade type character that hunts and kills supernatural beings. Unfortunately his acting is dull and he isn't allowed to be charismatic. They use all practical effects which are good for the most part. You can see the low budget in the film though.

The movie is set in 1945 and they don't try to show it. They got some female extras in there with fake t*ts and tattoos in it. One of the main characters is Dominican and her ass is crazy. I don't know if its a BBL or all her but they didn't have this kinda ass in 1945.

Horror thread's 31 days of Halloween List - Day 25 - World War Z
Former United Nations employee Gerry Lane traverses the world in a race against time to stop a zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatens to destroy humanity itself.

I genuinely think these are the best zombies in horror cinema. The airplane scene is the standout, but the way this z virus flies through a crowd is genuinely horrifying to think about. The whole movie is paced like the zombies; five mins is all it needs to get going.

The action makes up a huge chunk of this flick, and it still holds up. It's chaotic fun, that seems perfectly designed to be a video game.

The List:
1. Triangle (Prime)
2. The Loved Ones (Paramount+)
3. Salem's Lot 2024 (Max)
4. Be My Cat: A Film for Anne (Tubi)
