31. John Carpenter's Halloween

Halloween is a holiday to homage to the dead so I went with the idea to watch some movies with people that we lost this year.

11. Masque of the Red Death(Pluto/Apple TV+)
17. The Skeleton Key(Peacock/Apple TV+)
22. J. D.'s Revenge(Tubi/Brown Sugar/Prime)
30. The Shining(MAX/Apple TV+)

Reserves
Don't Look Now- Its not on a streaming platform right now. I could go with Invasion of the Body Snatchers 1978 but I remember talk about it recently.
Predator(Hulu) - I'm certain everyone already watches this every year.

16. Sleepaway camp (peacock)

This is one of the best movies to see people's reaction to on YouTube. Of course there's the ending, but it delivers multiple times throughout the movie. The ones that always gets people are the weird aunt, the head cook, the fake mustache, a carpenter's dream, and the head counselor and Meg.

9. When evil lurks(hulu and shudder)
I cheated and watched it a while ago. I heard it was :picard: , so I held off until the fam wasn’t around. Good shyt, but yall weren’t kidding. I thought the dog scene was :merchant:, then the movie went on. :damn:

Only issue I had was not explaining how the evil spread early on. At first I thought it was because of the scent, then it went to the person around it after it died, etc.

Might look around the forum to see if there’s a thread and read what others have to say about it.

A bunch of great selections here. I've never watched Henry or J.D's Revenge, so I'm especially hype for those watch days. The Witch and The Shining are two of my all-time favorite horrors too. I slid Masque of the Red Death up to 9 since someone tagged 11 already.

I also threw on The Loved Ones, because I feel like it's underappreciated for how crazy it is. We've

Rugna got inspired by pesticides, which caused a bunch of issues for Argentinian farm workers without them realizing until it was too late.

He said the farms spread pesticide everywhere, and everyone in the area was affected. But since profits were good, and these people were poor, the companies behind the pesticides and the businesses behind the farms didn't bother with clean-up. So it was like this invisible killer that nobody put much effort into cleaning up and which could catch anyone.

That doesn't fully explain how the possession spread, but I think it kinda fits with why people were told not to use guns (they're blasting particles into the air which spread quickly). It also makes sense for why children were emphasized, because he mentioned kids in these areas having cancer.

Unrelated but also cool trivia about the film: he mentioned was that he wanted to do an exorcism movie without a priest. Because every exorcism movie ends with the priest arriving to fight evil. So, he wanted to ask "what if there's no priest available."

I watched Loved Ones a few years back. It was decent but very :whoa: with the
If they cut out all the HS drama/jokes ish, it'd be a pure gem. Everything in the "trapped in a house with psychos" side hits. Making psycho dad a creeper kinda added to how insane the scenario was for the MC and company imo.

I caught Sleepaway Camp last night and what a joy that film is. Had already known about the ending since it’s so well-regarded in the horror community, but the journey is still just as good.

Aunt Martha as a character alone probably would’ve had a spin-off or two made if this came out today. She was so damn creepy in this to me, R.I.P. to that actress.
