I may watch sleepy hollow again to start off next months festivities lol

I watched this last when I wanted to watch some gothic horror. It held up surprisingly well. This was on of the movies I'd always watch cause I had a black box, and they would play it all the time on PPV.

I got around to watching Grave Torture and it's the first 2024 movie to get a "Holy shyt" out of me at its conclusion. I like to give movies a bit of time to reflect, but I think it's my pick for scariest horror of 2024 (Oddity had a tenuous grip on it because this year's been light).

As a warning, the first half barely touches on supernatural stuff. It's just really messed up. As in this movie comes with ALL the trigger warnings. People suffer, and then that trauma builds into all the horror of the second half. But goddamn, the second half of this movie has a combination of camera work, cinematography, and genuinely tense moments. It reminds me of When Evil Lurks. A foreign film from a promising director that takes their work to another level.

i peeped it to the other day. starts out slow but it gets nuts in the second half. CGI was a bit iffy in the climax but i like movies that go for it. i'm gonna peep the director's other flicks on shudder

Satan's Slaves and Satan's Slaves 2 are good imo. They're similar in that they really go for it by the end.

Looking forward to ‘It’s What’s Inside’, which is supposed to drop early next month on Netflix. The Big Picture podcast, more specifically…Fennessey, could not stop raving about this one. He clearly wanted to say more about it and I take it embargos prevented such.

Looks like some body swap type shyt, but I’m guessing it gets way more twisted than what the trailer leads you to believe. The colors and lighting alone popped out right away. It’s a high priority watch for me.

I tried to make my Italian Horror tierlist from movies I watched this summer, but tierlistmaker was giving me problems so I couldn't do anything on their site. I didn't even realize I watched ~28 of them:dahell: There's some more that I wanted to watch, but I wanted to pace myself. I got burnt out last year around this time for horror movies because I watched a lot of summer/water movies.

We need some new A24 horror.

They have Y2K coming which is a horror/comedy film. Think Virus meets Superbad. They had The Front Room with Brandy not too long ago.

They also have Heretic coming out with Hugh Grant November 8th. I like Sophie Thatcher on Yellow Jackets are her other movies worth checking out?

Speaking of Hugh Grant I watched one of his early movies this week.

The Lair of the White Worm (1988)

Ken Russell is crazy:mjlol:

I'd say this movie is a British Fright Night without the Peter Vincent character. I legitimately thought this movie was funny, and I'm not a fan of British humor.

Amanda Donohoe did a great job playing the sexy villain. I kind of want to rewatch Species because of this movie.

Street Trash (1987)

I thought this movie was alright. Not gonna lie I was actually more interested in the drama aspect with the homeless. There wasn't that much horror or specifically body horror in this movie, but when they showed it the practical effects were great.

James Lorinz(Frankenhooker) was hilarious in the movie. Bronson was good. I didn't like the cop. I also have a problem with the mob hitter not shooting the cop.

Xtro (1982)

Yea you guys were right this movie was fukkery:russ:

If I was Sam and came back and saw my wife in a relationship with the only guy that she works with I'd be pissed off:stopitslime:

I don't really understand how the kid turned into the from "It's a Good Life" from the Twilight Zone. I did like his toys coming to life to murder people. I would have shyt my pants if I'm in someone's apartment and a panther pops up.

I want them to remake this movie. Hopefully it'd be good. This movie seems like it would be good to see in a theatre to see everyones reactions to the crazy stuff.

One of my favorite horror scenes ever. shyt fukked me up as a kid. Everything about it is perfect. A master class on building suspense.

Best jump scare of all time. I think what really seals it is that it's deep enough into the playtime that the atmosphere has been fully established, and the movie has had virtually no jump scares yet. So, it's got the audience primed to be scared but not ready for a jump scare...then they execute it to perfection.
