Gave this a watch last night and it’s easily among my favorites from Dario. Thought the thing it had going for it the most was the camerawork as there are some serious, sick ass shots in this. Italian Hitchcock showcasing opera house fukkery through the eyes of the ravens. :banderas:

Dislikes: This is an already bonkers film and the ending somehow manages to go off the rails. I did enjoy seeing the protagonist’s arc come full circle, though this all could’ve been wrapped up sooner.

Found the metal music unnecessary and undermined the creepy atmosphere overall. If it was supposed to reflect how sadistic the kills were then eh, cool, but I wish there was a cut without it.

The bullet flying through the peephole is THE kill of the film, and this was before anyone had ever done it before. :damn: Stood out on its own like the bleeding arm scene in Tenebrae.

And I’m sorry but I bust out laughing when Giula got hit by that thrown iron. :mjlol:

M3GAN didn’t really do much for me, and that kills me to say. Just struck me as middle of the road and something that can be caught on streaming without missing anything noteworthy in theater. The movie I would say “Yeah, I’ll watch it again”, but end up never watching again.

My issues with it didn’t really come from it being PG-13. The comedy hits and the movie does a fine job with the kills under those constraints. The film just felt like a constant game of tug-of-war with one side being campy and the other being self-aware that stuck out like a sore thumb in the plot. I keep seeing “This is the new generation’s Child’s Play.” all on social media. Well, they can have it. This hefer ain’t got shyt on Chucky. :hubie:

I enjoyed Housebound from Gerard and I know this has the screenwriter of Malignant attached, but perhaps James Wan being in the director’s chair would have provided some spiciness to catapult this film to higher heights? :patrice:

The first 40 minutes of Possession are uncomfortable in a "worst breakup every" sorta way. Then it goes completely off the rails in a "what the hell am I witnessing" kinda way. This woman's performance really creeped me out...wtf is this movie!?

Daniel Day-Lewis got done watching it and said “Yeah, I’ma try and wife dat.”

It's different lol and largely it's own thing so give it a shot. I believe the last season is coming up so best time to binge.
Doom Patrol - first episode and It is good so far.

The pilot in the fighter jet :damn:
The actress’s face after she fell into the lake in Congo after she dubbed the man with a missing arm :umad:
The blob metamorphosis
The race car driver and his family -

Interesting characters. The setup is good - im on to episode 2

This feels like some type of extra dark depressing horror themed version of XMen
