It’s a bit of a throw away answer buried in a longer interview…but John carpenter says there’s only one video game he would turn into a movie
He already did a space horror flick with Ice Cube, Pam Grier, John Statham, and that Species: chick

Ghosts of Mars, I haven’t watched that in a long time.He already did a space horror flick with Ice Cube, Pam Grier, John Statham, and that Species: chick
I remember thinking Allyson was going to grow into being an absolute badass character after the way she picked up that knife in 2018. Sigh.Halloween Ends was definitely not it for me. There's a version of the movie where I could get on board with one or two of the risks that they took. But I thought it felt too abrupt to make those decisions in the last movie.
And they abandoned those risks...like killing off the "next Michael" or the Strode's magnetism with killers. They flirted with the magical/cursed elements from the past...blood curses, mask powers, killing seemed to soothe/heal Michael a bit at one point. But none of that shyt went anywhere.
I also don't like the way that characters' personalities shifted from one movie to the next. Laurie's granddaughter was a completely different person in each movie. Lindsey is super low key in this movie, but that also makes zero sense to me after the last.
Also Laurie's gone from recluse to horny memoir writer which is probably the worst final girl arc ever.
The kills were mostly pretty good. But it was a toothless conclusion for me.
The soundtrack would be fire at the very leastI’m not going to say he absolutely needs to, but I’d be delighted if Carpenter got onboard for either a Thing sequel or Dead Space adaptation. Sooner rather than later too as he is getting up there in age.

My favorite sequel. RIP
