David Gordon Green, the ultimate grifter. :wow:Blumhouse is letting this dude run the same exact playbook that gave us Halloween Kills and Ends.
:dead:

What's crazy is that the TV series pretty much already did this 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ and got no love for it.

Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria (2018)

Idk why, but the imagery of Mother Suspiriorum digging up all of the receipts on every witch who pledged allegiance to Markos has me cracking up. :laff:

Had Death blow the fukk out of each one to bits. I know I shouldn’t be laughing at all at this, especially in a remake that comes off as bleak and offers no comedic breaks at all. But fukk it.

Glad I got to watch it in theaters when it came out. Easily could’ve shed off a half hour but I swear this is how witches would operate if they existed in real life. Thom Yorke’s score complemented the atmosphere really well and is one of the best I’ve heard within the past decade. Gonna put the OG art piece on tomorrow and bask in Goblin’s soundtrack. :ahh:

I re-watched Toxic Avenger and the movie is so ridiculous that tis funny to me. Its as if John Watters made a movie where Jason Vorhees kills the Droogs from A Clockwork Orange. For a low budget movie in the 80s all the effects and fight scenes are really well made.

I tried to watch Class of Nuke em High but I didn't finish it. Might go back, that was more like a twisted version of a John Hughes movie.

V/H/S 99 started out rough but manages to put on an entertaining back-half for what it was.

While it isn’t absolute trash like Viral, I’d probably rank it after that one. Don’t think I ever felt shook while watching. Was waiting for that one quiet, slow-burn segment to make me feel uneasy (like ‘Empty Wake’) and it never came. Felt like an extension of the absurdity in 94’s Hail Raatma segment throughout each one.

I’ll always keep up with this franchise because of the up-and-coming talent it showcases. FlyLo and the Winters directed the two best segments for me. FlyLo’s twisted version of a game show going bad coming off as the most original while ‘To Hell And Back’ was a fun ride just like Deadstream.

3/5.

When Toxic Avenger talks, it will never not body me.

You guys probably already hyped it but Terrifier 2 is my favorite horror movie this year
The only thing that kept me from rushing to theaters is that long run-time. I'm hype to peep it but not sure I can do 2:30 hours straight with Art wrecking people.

I'll def have VHS on deck this week. My horror watches have been Shudder and Peacock heavy this week. Anything for Jackson, Aterrados (Terrified...kinda slept on), They/Them, Escape the Fields, Season of the Witch, and My Soul to Take. It's a busy day at work, but I'll try to do some thoughts on my rewatches/first watches of each when I can.
