Midnight mass reallllllly ratcheted up in the last 2 episodes. But yeah they were both super slow builds
Creepiest bit to me and the turning point of an otherwise good season was the

massacre at the church. That damn angel was walking down the aisle like The Undertaker and had everybody shook. :mjlol:

My biggest worry at the time while watching it turned into reality. They did such a great job with the build-up there that everything that followed felt corny in comparison.

Another scene I enjoyed was when Riley bumped into Monsignor Pruitt and the Angel at the Rec Center. Angel rockin’ that top hat and turning around to Riley on some :dahell: had me shook and dying of laughter all at the same time. :dead:

Watched a couple of new Shudder flicks:

Allegoria
It was OK but at times felt like a student film.
I give 'Allegoria' 2 out 4 Gun Totin' Dr. Loomis'

What Josiah Saw
This movie had some nice performances and a nice sense of overwhelming dread but it also had long periods where it felt like I was watching a lifetime movie and the director did this thing that I hate where they acted like really loud out of tune screechy violins make things scary that aren't very scary at all and the overused it a lot.
I give 'What Josiah Saw' 2.5 out 4 Gun Totin' Dr. Loomis'

I also watched They/Them which was a decent shot at making a different kind of slasher movie but it had lots of issues especially its biggest issue that to me made the film far less interesting than it could've been.
The decision to not actually kill any of the kids at the camp was one that I understood but it had the opposite effect for me than what I assume writer/director John Logan was going for. You can't make the attempt at being inclusive while also treating the group you are trying to include as so precious that you can't make them wholly a part of the genre you are exploring.
A film where the LGBTQ kids fit into the same slasher horror archetypes as we are used to seeing and suffering the same fates would've been much more of a brave first step than what Logan ended up doing.
Kevin Bacon was great though.
I give 'they/Them' 2 out 4 Gun Totin' Dr. Loomis'

Y’all keep renting and staying in those BNB rental homes if you want to …. Fuk around and find out
:yeshrug:
This is precisely the reason why I don’t take chances staying at rental homes - I’ll stick to paying premium for hotels with accommodations surrounded by other people that I don’t need to have one on one contact with or end up in an underground bunker or attic with a host that’s on their insane abduction serial killer type of timing

I suspect a predator came back to earth and hunted that girls family :jbhmm: how else could that predator in predator 2 obtain that pistol that he gave danny Glover

That gun easter egg was about the only thing I had a problem with in the movie. In the original canon, that shyt belonged to a pirate whose crew betrayed him over spoils. He wound up working WITH the Predator to take out the pirates until they were the last two standing, but he got shot before they could duel. He gives the gun to the predator as he's dying. So I didn't like the way they nerfed and changed that character to get the gun callback in. But I loved the movie otherwise and that's a minor complaint.
