Gotta be careful who's food you eat:lolbron::mjgrin:
:mjlol: Since it's Hannibal, I kinda side-eyed ever meal prep. But let me not say more in case I do wind up spoiling some of the dope stuff. I def wanna hear your reactions with as much surprise as possible...There's a lot I'm looking forward to your reactions on! That :damn: smiley is gonna get a lot of work is all I'll say.
Oh M Geee :deadmanny::deadmanny:
Hannibal said and I’m paraphrasing:
“Let’s eat -Enjoy your rabbit, it’s delectable”
Larry Fishburne: “that rabbit should have jumped faster”
*flashback to man running :unsure::no:=:cook:
This show is INSANE!!!!

excuse my incoming rant but I fukkin HATE that noodle headed maroon haired reporter!!! She’s pure shyt!! the worst- always intruding or contaminating crime scenes, she already caused one death. I hope she meets her fate in the same way.

the serial killer’s antler room
:merchant::merchant:

I’m on the episode with the missing children and their families - Molly Shannon (old SNL comedian) playing that crazy kidnapper lady; abducting the children from their families she’s too good in this role, crazy mannerisms of hers seems like she has experience doing this in real life -
:picard:

Hannibal trying to make Abigail his protege-
H: “it’s important to turn the page in the next stage of your life. why don’t you apply to college? It’s time to move on from this”
:ld:
abigail: “my dad killed girls at all of the schools that I applied to
:yeshrug:
H: “well, perhaps that can’t wait then”.
————
whatttt!!!???:mjtf::mjtf:
Even more demonic how they treat this like a regular everyday conversation.

Idk how or why I missed this show when it first came around but it’s like every episode is a horror movie in itself. Will’s mental flashback scenes when he’s analyzing the crime scenes are A1 graphics.

:mjgrin:…it’s gonna keep getting crazier. Show really cracked the code and got cancelled even though everyone was on board to keep going. Feels like they talk about wanting to bring it back once every couple years because they know they had gold!

yeah but i wonder if Michael Myers is included :russ:
I’ll buy the property and use it as a stash house, with the stipulation that Michael Myers comes with the house - I have a few people that I need him to violently stab in the throat and any other vital organs. In fact, I’ll even pay 20%-40% above market

@storyteller im on the Blood Eagle episode. The opening scene with the two praying people.
Just wowwwww. Do you realize how much technical ability and creativity had to go into constructing that?

There was a torture scene in The Vikings tv series about people getting blood eagle-ed that was hard to watch and it was on The History Channel so for this to even be on NBC network tv - I have never seen such a display on prime time programming. And I’m only on episode 5 …
:picard::deadmanny:
I know you talked about the disappointment of this series being canceled but from my new viewer perspective but This is one of those series that would have gone on to 6-8 seasons if this was HBO Max, showtime, AMC etc etc.

I'm a HUGE fan of Vikings too. Ironically, in the old Hannibal thread I had a post where I was like "Hannibal's the best show of this season and that's a huge compliment because it's beating out Vikings." The best part is that the crazy-ass murder scenes haven't come close to peaking for you. The way they craft all of it is so damned haunting but visually stunning at the same damned time...nightmare fuel...it's pure nightmare fuel. There's an orchestra-focused episode that I'd put up against the best horror moments in any show/movie.

Hannibal series-

Hannibal and Will’s interaction Resembles a demented version of Frasier and Niles.

Ep6- Larry Fishburne asked a question that I had to look up for myself, the definition and characteristics of psychopaths. LF’s question:
Which careers have the most psychopaths
The Top 10 Jobs That Attract Psychopaths

1. CEO

2. Lawyer

3. Media (Television/Radio)

4. Salesperson

5. Surgeon

6. Journalist

:unimpressed:

Psychopaths are difficult to spot most of the time. They're not the "Jack the Ripper" caricatures you see in films or read about in books. Often, psychopaths appear normal, which makes them hard to identify.

In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, or DSM-5, someone with a psychopathic personality type is defined as having an inflated, grandiose sense of themself, and a knack for manipulating other people. But a diagnosis is rarely simple.

One thing psychopaths tend to have in common is the careers they go for. For example, you're likely to find a lot of them in leadership positions because of their ruthlessness, charisma, and fearlessness. They're very good at making snap decisions, but not so good at the empathetic professions like nursing or therapy.

Kevin Dutton, a British psychologist and writer, specialises in the study of psychopathy. In his book "The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies, and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success," he made a list of the types of jobs that attract the most psychopaths.

"Functional psychopaths," as Dutton calls them, "use their detached, unflinching, and charismatic personalities to succeed in mainstream society." In other words, psychopaths often live as normal people with a few traits that make them different.

Professions with the most psychopaths

Top 5 professions that have psychopaths:
5. Surgeon

One study, published in the journal The Bulletin of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, sought to find out whether surgeons really were likely to be psychopaths. Results showed that consultants at teaching hospitals scored higher on a scale of psychopathic personality than district general hospital consultants, who scored higher than the general population. Possible reasons the authors give in their discussion is that "stress immunity is the overriding personality trait of doctors," and the fact surgeons have to make quick, difficult decisions every day.

4. Salesperson
A psychopathic person who works in sales probably shows traits such as shameless self promotion, stealing other people's contacts, a relentless desire to earn the most money, and an inability to be a team player. Depending on how your organisation works, this could either be your worst nightmare, or the dream sales candidate.

3. Media person in TV or radio

Some psychopaths also exhibit narcissism, which is arguably useful in a job that requires a lot of public focus. The popularity of this career choice for psychopaths could also be because being a TV anchor or radio personality also requires you to be calm in the face of pressure.

2. Lawyer
In "Confessions of a Sociopath: A Life Spent Hiding In Plain Sight," author M. E. Thomas, a self-proclaimed sociopath, claims being a sociopath helped her be a better attorney. In a blog post for Psychology Today, attorney Ruth Lee Johnson says that although psychopathic traits like self-confidence, cold-heartedness, and deceitful charm may be handy for lawyers, it's simplistic to say these traits alone are enough. In the right context, though, they could make someone very formidable.

1. CEO
Psychopaths have something called a "resilience to chaos." This doesn't just mean they keep a cool head under stress — they also sometimes create havoc for everyone else, because it makes them look good when everyone around them is struggling. Some psychopaths may use this method to climb the career ladder all the way to the top. Others aren't necessarily as manipulative, and reach the top through their skills alone.

I watched Slither last night and the night before I watched The Frighteners. I liked both movies and they seemed pretty similar. I wish Raimi, Peter Jackson, and James Gunn did more movies out of the franchises that we associate them with.

A triple feature of Evil Dead 2, Slither, and The Frighteners sounds like a decent way to spend this cold and rainy Saturday.:jbhmm:

@storyteller - I'm already up to episode 11 for Hannibal.
I've been watching nothing else but this series just straight episode after episode.

(side note: I don't think this is mentally healthy thing to do for various reasons- it's just so much murder :deadrose: the human totem pole/jigsaw puzzle:damn::damn: :gag:)

there's so much to decipher in this series. and I don't want to look at any recaps or synopsis because I don't want to spoil it for myself and I need the element of surprise.
So far this is what I have:
Hannibal is the Chesapeake Killer.
Hannibal found out that Will really does have encephylitas - which is the physical ailment that is causing his mental condition.
But Hannibal is deceiving Will into thinking that it's all psychological which is he conspired with the treating physician Dr. Sutcliffe (and we know how that ended).

Abigail was really helping her father with the serial murders of the girls, which means Larry Fishburne was right all along even though everyone is mad at him for not believing her.
Larry Fishburne's wife (Jessica from Suits) has cancer (bonus- she was his wife in real life at the time of this series).

Hannibal has a rolodex of names and recipes for his culinary cannibal dinners
:picard:
The only stable characters in this it seems is Larry Fishburne, his wife and the female psychiatrist that Friend zoned Will.

The violin "catgut" episode :mjtf:....:damn:I wasn't expecting that.
Idk how believable this scenario was - that little mousey man Tobias singlehandedly took out 2 Baltimore Police officers with a violin string contraption :stopitslime:
and lmao at his friend stalking Hannibal at The Whole Foods and begging to be his friend
:dahell:

and Jillian from X-Files being Hannibal's psychiatrist :ohhh:There's a psychiatrist for the psychiatrist to the behavioral analysts :ohhh:

pls add on if I missed anything because I think I'm in a haze at this point
