I randomly picked a comment of yours to complain about something. Then i read the comment. And you were addressing what i wanted to complain about. Anyways. We need an official From thread
Lol. Thanks, I think. This is the official FROM thread - any and everything horror/mystery/thriller related can be discussed on this thread.

Lol!! Nothing wrong with you. Same with me- we are a different type of different when it comes to watching horror films, series on a daily basis anyway and yet this this thread has the most sanest rational discussions on this site. It is what it is, idc. The controlled chaos that is our minds.
:mjlol::deadrose:
Then once you venture into this - it’s hard NOT sleeping without listening.

Could be you and me both. I don't watch creepy horror stories every night, but I do pretty often. I'm always up on this dude Lazy Masquerade's disturbing real mysteries and ish like that.

A lot of this stuff is creepier than horror for me. Like the Ripper story here and the audios and all that

If y’all want something creepy - check this out. He talks about the real life True story behind The Exorcist, mythology behind the Conjuring, summoning, ouija boards, historical references etc etc

I've been over by the Exorcist house before, nothing out of the ordinary but when you hear it's The Exorcist house you get a little :lupe:.

If you're ever out this way I could give you a haunted tour around town. :youngsabo:

@storyteller @Jello Biafra @Lord_nikon This is the North Sentinel Island community that Eli Roth used for his racist toned horror "Green Inferno" movie?? along with the "Indigenous" horror film that was out some time ago.

Why do outsiders insist on not leaving these people alone?? They are not bothering anyone - the audacity of caucasity with the white savior superiority complex.
:dahell:
Then they finesse the story into a horror movie, talking about how 'dangerous and aggressive' they are when in reality, Sentinelese people only react to protect their land and their people.
21:44 - I can't believe how entitled this dude and the missionaries were, the colonizer really thought that he could pass judgement on their customs, beliefs, culture, lifestyle. The "missionary" tried not once but 3x to infringe on their territory. He was warned multiple times. The island people struck his bible with a bow&arrow. One would think that's divine intervention right there to leave and never come back. He came back again, Talking about "Jesus loves them" - they don't even speak english! Like the people don't have their own spirituality or religion. The problem is the outsider really didn't want to spread the word of God to them, he wanted to be a god among them for his personal ego fulfillment. He really insulted their culture, referring to them as "satan's last stronghold"
:beli:
This fool decides to go back for the third time and proclaim the word of his "god" - again. This last time the indigenous people were like - "you want to introduce us to your Jesus? we have the same idea - how about we send you to him:demonic:"
one of the comments-
Missionary: wanna see Jesus?
Sentinelese: wanna meet Jesus

:mjlol:

X was awesome. Whoever mentioned that it's an A24 version of a classic slasher. It's got all the ingredients and pretty much the same recipe, but manages to still have that modern storytelling feel. There's cool ish that overly analytical heads can go nuts over (the mirroring in this movie is wild, the callbacks to classics, the way it flips conventional slasher rules on their head); but it still falls back on tried and true tropes. If you've seen the "requel" speech in the latest Scream...this kinda nailed that combination of nostalgia but modern and fresh. The kills were mostly brutal too and still managed to not be the most disturbing scenes of the movie. This was really damned good.

I made the mistake of giving the Scary of 61st on Shudder a look. I saw a vintage look and NY aesthetics, so how bad could it be? On my shortlist for my least favorite horror movie ever. I can't say for sure bc I cut it off around halfway through when I couldn't find a redeeming quality worth continuing. I don't think I've ever flat out told yall not to waste your time on a movie. But this is that flick for me. I hated it.

Sidenote: Not horror, but the Tourist on HBOMax is a 6 episode, self-contained mystery about a man who gets run off the road in Australia and wakes up with no memory, a note in his pocket with a meeting place, and some sketchy and dangerous seeming individuals looking for him. I'm down to the sixth episode and have really liked it all the way through. It's got good dark humor and solid action/tension. Worth a look if your options dry up.
