I know if I had any say in things that I would reboot Friday the 13th without Jason. Instead I would use his mom like in the original and instead of just having her pop up at the end of the movie I would instead make the movie more of a whodunit where Pam kills one of the campers early on and assumes their identity then starts picking off the other counselors until she is left alone with the Final Girl and is revealed to be the killer.
Cast someone a bit younger than the (amazing) Betsy Palmer was, say a mid-30s to 40 year old, and basically play it up like a Scream style slasher film.
Jason, for me, is a character that needs to be completely overhauled because the unstoppable hulking killing machine thing is tired. Taking him back to the core of the character as being just a homicidal outdoorsman would be preferable to the zombified juggernaut that the character became by the time the franchise turned to shyt.

Of course I would go nuts for a Jason vs Freddy vs Ash movie in a heartbeat because I loved the comic book that came out a few years ago.

I seriously doubt that will happen. The two studios (Paramount and....not sure who else) that own Freddy and Jason called up Sam Raimi, he heard them out. Then they called Bruce Campbell to see if he was interested....he said "ok cool, so at what point in the movie do I kill them?" and the studios :dwillhuh: "uh....you don't kill them" and he hung up on them.:mjlol:

He said Ash kills monsters, if he's not killing monsters why is he in the movie?:wow:

Yeah Bruce explained recently why that didn't pop off. I didn't read the article but if I find it I'll post it

He'll raiser couldn't hold my attention, dunno if it was the cheesy 80's fashion and shyt, but I turned it off. Crazy since it's on almost every GOAT horror list.

Anyway, y'all got any recs for shyt that's on Prime or Netflix, I'm looking for either a legit :hamster: or some :heh: fukkery

Edit: when the fukk is prime ever gonna get a better interface. I hate browsing on this shyt :beli:

To me the best slashers are not the supernatural, Jason, Freddy, etc, it's ones that follow more of the Agatha Christie/Scream blueprint, where the killer is revealed at the end, that's the intrigue to me, even in a dumb slasher, is finding the killer, and what their likely preposterous (in a bad slasher) motive was. I need some recommendations in that lane, as I finish up the horror movies for this month. 'Scream' is the classic, but 'Urban Legend' is close to me, as far as slasher/mysteries goes.

I feel like they could make a new one of any of those if they REALLY stuck to the mythology of the originals and had a couple famous people as the victims. Like imagine a Friday the 13th with Margot Robbie as the survivor girl. And like miles teller as the stoner dude that dies early so they don't have to pay him TOO much. Feel like that would do numbers :yeshrug:

Margot ain't doing that.

I think Halloween and nightmare are the best shots at being really good. But I've never really been a fan of Friday the 13th. I thought the 09 flick was dope and like maybe two others in the series. To me, it's a lot of trash and fukkery
