Antlers is def on my list to see ASAP. I'm checking the Deep House first, but I'm gonna try to catch Antlers after that if I can find a good stream.
Have you had a chance to watch Antlers yet?
Antlers was good.
Watching it now. I like it so far. But
I can’t get past people thinking investigating solo with no backup, is a good idea. The school administrator, the sheriff - there’s an unknown cannibal like serial killer burning, cutting people to pieces and yet they still enter an abandoned house that smells like dead bodies with the doors unlocked suspiciously on the- let me find out what’s going on by MYSELF. In the DARK. While on a search mission.

Also why are they talking soooooo sloooooww and with a lack of urgency. The dialogue is not matching up with the intensity of the moment. Like shouldn’t they be more panicked or something; they talk like bodies building up with a supernatural monster is a nonevent

It’s directly related to the 1974 original.

As far as sequence, it’s not as convoluted as the Halloween franchise as far as timeline. You could watch TCM 1974 and 2003 and be fine with this 2022 version. 2003 is basically a remake of 1974. 2022 is a direct sequel to 1974, 2003 is a remake of 1974. Think remade remake as a sequel to the original.

Edit - I may be wrong, i think it’s 2006 not 2003
Timelines

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

One could make the argument that almost every sequel in this series has been a reboot. The only one you can actually link to the original is the second film. Parts 3 and 4 were definitely reboots, though at that time, they were still pretending to be sequels — nobody was throwing that word “reboot” around just yet.

By 2003, however, the TCM franchise finally embraced its natural tendency to reboot itself. The 2003 reboot completely disregards every previous film in the series, starting completely fresh with a new canon. This time, a new group of five youths wind up at Leatherface’s family farm, with all but one winding up butchered at the hands of the family. The film lists the date of this story as taking place on August 18, 1973.

While the word “reboot” makes many horror fans sigh, it was definitely necessary for this franchise. You know, considering any sense of continuity by this point had been totally destroyed. This film embraces the idea of presenting its own self-contained story, and it works out well.

Of course, the con for this reboot being successful was that it ushered in a flood of other horror movie remakes along with it. And let’s just say the results vary quite a bit.

edit pt2.
I need to rewatch
I’m getting the years wrong - I watch these too many times and it’s getting meshed together in my head.

I didn’t forget about that over movie you asked me about weeks ago, I just never watched it.

New eps of “Gomorrah” are on HBO max that I found out about so that’s my go-to right now. If you can deal with Italian with English subtitles, you might like it. Real grimy mafia -like series. Never watched or gaf about the sopranos but Gomorrah is good. Used to be on Netflix but now it’s HBO max - commented on it over there.

Gomorrah - :picard:Peaky Blinders is more like the “Robin hood” of crime families. They cut down the inner workings of corruption and impropriety. They don’t kill unless people deserve it. But Gomorrah- they don’t care, anybody can get it and they do (kids, teenagers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, wives ) they had a shootout at an elementary school recital. just unhinged violence and destruction to gain control -if you get in the way of the family or the access to power. They will wipe out your entire bloodline and generation, no fux given. Makes Sopranos in New Jersey look like the Disneyworld mafia family.

I started this awhile ago and loved it but I got caught up and stopped. I need to catch back up. Also hearing good things about Ozark. Watching Toby do this little girls sister dirty in paranormal activity 3 at the moment.

I just watched this shark movie called The Requin starring Alicia Silverstone.

Now I'm not going to say it is terrible or even try to dissuade anyone from watching it...all I'm gonna do is leave this clip right here and let you all make your own decisions:

had planned to watch this with the kids this weekend. We hooked on zombie movies and shark movies but that clip just deaded the idea. :francis:

I haven't watched it yet because I couldn't get a good stream going. I heard it hits HBOMax in February and figured I'll wait for it to drop there. There's another one hitting HBOMax soon that I was hype for and I'm completely blanking on...maybe the new Del Toro joint.

I thought Antlers was solid
It held my interest enough. Worth the watch. Finishing up the last 22 minutes Now. Because it takes me 8 hrs to watch a 1hr46 min movie for many reasons. Anyway, Felicity carried this movie.
Do they ever say how his little brother became “very sick” with what the father has?? That Wendigo possession thing

That’s the exact reason why I’m waiting for Scream to stream on Paramount. Ever since Covid- can’t pick up any decent stream connections without all the buffering and glitches on this kodi app.

Same issue for me. The good streams are tough to find. Luckily everything hits the services way faster. I was pretty happy with Scream, with some complaints but nothing bad enough to ruin the fun. I won't say more than that till you've gotten a look! :salute:
