Day Fifteen: Santa Claws
This movie starts with young Wayne awakening on the couch on Christmas Eve (unbeknownst to Wayne he was slipped a couple sleeping pills in his hot chocolate by his uncle) and creeping upstairs to his mom's room to catch mom and uncle (in a Santa hat!) in flagrante delicto. So Wayne, still grieving his father who died a few years earlier, does what any kid would do and grabs his mom's gun and murders her and his uncle.
Then we dive right into a 3 minute long maudlin musical montage before we get to the meat of the movie that is basically just an adult Wayne in a ski mask/Santa hat combo murdering the folks over at "Scream Queens Illustrated" in between having deranged conversations with his sex doll.
And somehow all of this weirdness doesn't produce a "so bad, it's good" movie because there is no charm to anything in this film. It is just bad. Really bad. I mean absolutely terrible. And super sleazy too.

“The information that has been obtained so far revealed that Mil Colmillos is the first production of its kind carried out in Colombia and most of its processes were carried out in the national territory. The project belongs to WarnerMedia Latin America and the production was supported by the Bogota audiovisual production company Rhayuela. The direction and creation of the story was in charge of Jaime Osorio and Pablo González, who agree that “The locations, the production, the talent and the story make it a series with great values.”
As for the cast of the series, it is known that Sebastián Martínez, Claudio Cataño and Jarlin Martínez will be playing three of the most relevant characters in history.Other recognized names in the acting industry in the country will be appearing in this production, including Alejandro Buitrago, Carolina Ribón, Andrea Olaya, Lenard Vanderaa, Quique San Martín and Juan Carlos Messier. The human talent of the project was carrying out filming work in different locations of the national territory, selected after an investigative work in collaboration with La Opinion.
“At first I didn’t understand what was happening and I refused a bit, but my manager insisted that I go. I did that, I prepared myself and did a good casting, although I did not know what it was for, I thought it was a contemplative film “, said the actor Claudio Cataño about the presentation that they made of the project. Many of the artists decided to accept the proposal due to the importance of appearing on an international platform like HBO Max.
The plot of the story is based on the experience of the Colombian military, who must enter the jungle and there they will find some unpredictable and terrifying events. The work of special effects, necessary to recreate a horror production, is one of the elements to highlight in Mil Colmillos and this type of cinematographic endeavors have their first experiences in the national territory”

Be curious to see what the angle is they are taking with this new trilogy.
The short-lived FOX series was great and tied into the original films in such an inventive way so the film has some work to do to top that.

I flew through season one, but haven't checked for season 2 yet. They had me as soon as I learned about the concept. Add in a pretty dope cast and I'm still amazed at how well they managed to make it all work.
