Red Notice is more of a Sunday late afternoon type of movie for me.

I was watching a few episodes of “Grimm” that I’ve never seen before earlier tonight. Then I’m on to Ep. 3 of “Taboo” on Hulu and Great White.

Im confused - how is Army of Thieves related to Army of The Dead; does it have zombies in it too? Army of The Dead is horror but AOTheives is comedy?? I’ve had that on my list since it dropped but I’m not in the comedy mood to watch if there’s no horror elements.
:beli:

I might fit in “The Harder They Fall” at my parents’ house since my dad likes western movies. They can finally put the Netflix account that I set up for use other than watching Blue Bloods, NCIS and Blacklist.:palm:
Army of Thieves is about the guy that is recruited to crack the safe in Army of The Dead. It's basically his origin story and there is mention of the zombie outbreak happening but zombies aren't really a part of the story in the Thieves movie.

^Zombie movies are just done. Done and dead and dead and done. They killed that genre so hard we ought to be looking at it's autopsy. The one I hate with every fiber of my being and that gets my pressure up with furious anger is Fear The Walking Dead. I want just about every character to be smited from the Earth b/c of the dumb shyt they do in these shows/movies.
I love Day of The Dead 2008 version though. I know you're sick of vampire movies but check out Dracula Untold (2014). shyt was slept on IMO.

I need some scary shyt to watch tonight.
Fear The Walking Dead is such an odd show.
It started off interesting with the original premise of showing us how everything went to shyt once the zombie apocalypse started then; they changed showrunners who decided they wanted to get to the full zombie apocalypse stuff ASAP; then they became The Walking Dead West Coast for a bit: then it turned into a modern zombie vs cowboys show; then they added Morgan from TWD and it became TWD West Coast again; then they dropped a couple nukes on Texas which made it into a serious Z-Nation type of show.
And through all of that they have been like a roller coaster in terms of quality with maybe 3 of the 7 seasons being good.

The basis of death for most of the Gothic horror movies- real life causes of death in 1632.

I watched Next of Kin finally, so I was able to peep this. I DEFINITELY co-sign the sentiment. Next of Kin felt slow because they had to fill in so much lore and lay so much groundwork...which is wild because I still didn't really know what the powers of the demon were besides that it could possess people. It needs to really be beaten into producers that the narrative needs to be complete and come with some kinda purpose before they start plotting out sequels or trilogies or extended universes. I also think Next of Kin really blew up the "show don't tell" concept and went way too hard into explaining a lot since they couldn't incorporate much story into the plot. The who, what, and why's all required monologues and explanations that removed those moments from anything scary or creepy.

decent - nice twist

oh wow. I'll check for this. Robin Givens is directing horror movies now.:ohhh: and they have that IG/youtube comedian in it, dude named Reggie Couz is one of the main actors. Interesting.
he's funny in some of his other material.

IMDB has a list of "Horror Movie Facts You May Not Know" - IMDb: Ratings, Reviews, and Where to Watch the Best Movies & TV Shows

a few interesting ones:
Get Out
-The translation of the main theme, "Sikiliza Kwa Wahenga," is: "Brother, run! Listen to the elders. Listen to the truth. Run away! Save yourself."

-Night of the Living Dead (1968)

When the zombies are eating the bodies in the burnt-out truck they were actually eating roast ham covered in chocolate sauce. The filmmakers joked that it was so nausea-inducing that it was almost a waste of time putting the makeup on the zombies, as they ended up looking pale and sick anyway.

Ringu (1998)

The effect of Sadako coming out of the well was accomplished by filming actress Rie Ino'o walking backwards and later running the footage in reverse. The actress was a student of the Kabuki theatre, which uses exaggerated motion and jerking movements to emphasize emotion.

Friday the 13th (1980)

The killer, Jason, was originally named Josh :mjlol:but was changed after being deemed not threatening enough. Jason only started wearing the iconic hockey mask in Friday the 13th Part III (1982) (pictured).

Carrie (1976)

The name of the high school is Bates High, a reference to Norman Bates from Psycho (1960). In addition, the four-note violin theme from Psycho is used throughout the film.

Poltergeist (1982)

The skeletons that emerged from the swimming pool were real human skeletons. JoBeth Williams (pictured) didn't know this until after the scene was shot.

(and they question why the movie was cursed)
