I always felt that Zombie, despite his claims of being a huge Carpenter fan, was really more inspired by the later Halloween movies where Michael was chasing after Jamie Lloyd because she was his niece. Because that seemed to be what he was doing with Michael and Laurie in his films.

Well if you're going with the retcon, it makes sense.

He would have been much better suited to do a reboot/reimagining/whatever for Friday the 13th instead of Halloween.

Over all not a terrible list. "May" was heavily slept on.

Watched this one the other day. :francis:

Thought it was gonna be a campy and over-the-top homage to '80s slashers, but it was just bad. Acting was bad, story was bad. Amateur effort all around, which is a shame because the cover art had me going :ooh:

I though As Above So Below was a really bad movie

The Visit?

should have thrown The Poughkeepsie Tapes in there

Some absolute turds on that list.

Other than watching the Phantasm remaster, and watching Kill List for the trillionth time, I don't know what else to watch in October. Already burnt through a bunch of 80s classics (Night of the Creeps, Fright Night, The Howling, Re-Animator, etc). Any recommendations for what else to watch that I might not have seen already? Looking for some deep cuts here.

In terms of new shyt, I feel like I haven't seen a good horror flick in a while. Conjuring 2 was disappointing, Blair Witch sucked. Only recent horror movies I have enjoyed were The Witch, We Are Still Here and It Follows.
