Watching the clown right now...this shyt could've been so good if better scripted and acted. The premise is kinda cool

Edit: they ended on a baking soda vinegar fizzy face melt...wtf. This movie had potential but sucked, 2/5

The coli's top 10 Horror Film List

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/welc...p-ten-horror-movie-list-voting-thread.254618/

10. Hellraiser
9. Psycho
8. Scream
7. Alien
6. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
5. The Exorcist
4. The Thing
3. Nightmare On Elm Street
2. The Shining
1. Halloween
These are all classics, but except for the shining and maybe psycho, none of these are a favorite of mine...I'm really feeling like the odd man out in what I like in horror compared to the shyt that gets hyped here.

Like gore is a big waste of time to me...i don't know how the fukk people find those v/h/s movies to be any good

Javier Bardem Eyed for Frankenstein Role in Universal’s Monster Universe (EXCLUSIVE)

Having already filled its upcoming monster universe with A-list talent including Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp and Russell Crowe, Universal is now eyeing another star to revive a famous character.

Sources tell Variety that Javier Bardem is in talks to star as Frankenstein in Universal’s classic monster movie series. It’s currently unknown which monster feature Bardem would first appear in. Cruise and Crowe’s “The Mummy,” the first film in the monster series, is nearly done with filming.

Universal is also developing a “Bride of Frankenstein” feature, but sources indicate that Bardem’s Frankenstein would likely appear in another monster pic first with the possibility of getting a spin-off down the road.

Universal Dates Third Monster Movie for 2019

Last summer, the studio tapped Alex Kurtzman (“Star Trek”) and Chris Morgan to help develop the monster pics as connected universe.

Ironically, Bardem had been approached about playing the Dr. Jekyll role opposite Cruise in “The Mummy,” but ultimately passed on the part, which opened the door for Crowe.

Bardem was most recently seen in Sean Penn’s “The Last Face” and is currently filming Darren Aronofsky’s untitled film opposite Jennifer Lawrence. He also has “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” which bows next summer.

I grew up on Universal Movie Monsters, James Bond and Godzilla films that my dad put me on to :mjcry:

I like the idea bringing these characters back into their shared universe like they did in the 30's and 40's now that the idea is taking over film studios, I just hope they don't suck brehs. Do the classics some justice Universal :lupe:

Update. If you haven't peeped blood and black lace please do. It's so dope. Such an influential flick in retrospect
I saw it a few years ago back when I used to rent netflix DVD's as opposed to just streaming.

My IMDB score is a 7, but I have to put some respek on its influence.

You should try to track down Planet Of The Vampires (1965).

You have any interest in Argento/Fulci? They seem to have piggybacked off of what Bava was doing, but added a touch more surrealism and fright. Suspiria (1977) seems to be the most famous of that era and it's a really wonderful film.

I saw it a few years ago, what were your thoughts?

I kinda felt like it was more influential than great, but my imdb score is a 7....:manny:

I like it a lot. I think a lot of Italian horror sort of clashes with our sensibilities as Americans. Something like this or suspira have characteristics of stuff we're used to but also a lot of differences. But the giallo aspect has basically become what our horror movies have become since Halloween or black Christmas.

Loved the look of it, loved the feel and the mystery aspect and love the music. The acting isn't great but the kills are and also sadistic as hell.

I actually edited my post right before you responded....:russ:

My favorite thing about those Italian films from the time is the use of colors and the mostly obvious sets. They weren't afraid to make things look artificial, and I think that really works for horror.
